Riley Quinn, put herself in danger so she could help others. The young girl jumped in front of a nuclear truck that had driven off the road. And saved two lives in the process as well as a pre-school bus. Riley saved a lot of lives that day but it cost her own in the progress.
You see, walking around in nuclear waste wasn't the brightest idea in history. So Riley Quinn was exposed to harmful liquid that made her develop stage 4 cancer, rather quickly.
And after all this, zombies started to take over the world, some kind of virus or infection had spread. But when you are lying in the hospital because you are to sick to get out of the bed, being in a zombie apocalypse isn't as fun as the movies says.

No one told Riley that being in the apocalypse meant smelling like a trash can or having zombie blood on all of her clothes and everyone forgot to mention that the internet disappeared.
But having some type of "zombie-cure-antibiotic-mushroom-power-cure-cancer-blood-green-liquid" In your body wasn't fun either.

So Riley was injected with almost the same type of cure that Murphy was also injected with. You will eventually find out if she has powers or not.
And this will follow the TV series, so it's best that you have watched it or else you will probably understand nothing.
