—Ultimate Chef Joy Kater's POV—
We went ahead and search this place once more... A few hours has past but still nothing useful for escaping... We all went back to the dining room.
"Hey, Ms. Kater!" Mattea greeted, tapping my shoulder. I turned around and saw her.
"Hello!" I greeted back, smiling at her. Oh yeah... I forgot she can't see... Oh well, I'll smile anyway! "You need something?"
"Uh... Yes, I actually do need something," she said, scratching her neck.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Can you introduce the other students to me more?" she requested. "I know their names now but... I want to know them much more... And you seem to know them all by now. And I'm not that good with new people too."
"Ah, yes. I do know something about all of them," I nodded. "But squeezing out information from some of them is quite difficult... And sure, I'll introduce them to ya!"
"And of course, introduce yourself too," she reminded. I nodded in response.
"Well... I'm not bragging but... I was known entitled the Ultimate Chef because they said that my culinary skills are great, either cooking or baking. Because of that, I've won many cooking and baking contests and all of them I won in first place," I introduced. "Though... My mother is the one that thought me to cook and bake. SHE deserves the Ultimate Chef title... Sadly, she died from an accident a few months ago..." I continued, tears slowly building up in my eyes. I quickly rubbed them off.
"Oh, I'm sorry I had to remind you of that..." she guiltily said.
"Nein, it's alright," I assured, ruffling her hair a bit. I tend to do that to people. "You can't live up to the past every time, ja? Anyway... How about you? Tell me about yourself more."
She fixed her hair. "You're one of those people who acts like a parent or older sibling to anyone, huh?" she commented at my previous gesture. I giggled a bit, nodding in agreement. "Well anyway... I told you that I'm blind, right? The reason I was blinded is because of an accident that happened when I was 11 years old. A speeding truck was approaching when we were crossing the street. I pushed my mom out of danger and I also managed to get out of the way of the truck. But the truck, which is apparently filled with chemicals, tumbled over and the liquids started to spill. My body was weakened and I was unable to move... And with the truck tumbling near me... Some of it spilled in my eyes, blinding them instantly. I tried to live a normal life after that. Unfortunately, I was bullied at school but that motivated me to find a way to make my life normal again... And I thought about enhancing my other senses more to help me 'see'"
"Wow... That was an interesting story of yours..." I commented. "Though one last question: How did you manage to elevate your senses?"
"Meditation," she answered. "I used to meditate for at least 5 to 6 hours everyday in the past years. Though I still do it sometimes in these days. I also used to practice balancing every now and then... This helps me heighten my sense of balance."
"Really? Balance is a sense?" I asked. She nodded. "Wow... I never knew that... Anyway, can I join you in meditation and practicing sometime?"
"Of course!" she flashed a smile. "Can I join you in cooking, too?" I am now secretly fangirling over her cute smile. Eeeek! She's cute! Just like a little sister! Please, bear with me because I always wanted to have a little sister... Even though we kinda look the same age... Me being a bit taller than her gives it away.
"Ja, of course! I would love some company when I'm cooking!" I agreed. "Well, come one! Let's introduce to you the other students more!" Gesturing her to follow. "And hey, can I call you 'little sis'?" I asked with extreme enthusiasm. Again... Bear with me...
"Uh... Okay...?" she replied, shock shown on her face. She's probably confused to why I suddenly asked that. But again... Bear. With. Me.....
"Yay! Let's go, little sis!" I exclaimed.
—Ultimate Perceiver Mattea Li's POV—
Okay... That was weird of her all of a sudden... But never mind that...
Joy led me to Mr. Magtibay first. "This, as you've already known, is the Ultimate Leader! He's also mein best friend since elementary!" she introduced, wrapping her arm around his shoulders, earning a what I can barely perceive as a smile from Mr. Magtibay. I ship it... Just kidding. "As what is said in his title, he is the best leader there is! He can lead anything! Either human or animal, there's no problem! Here's what is great about him: He leads them to victory! He's led many groups, clubs, and even large organizations to victory. He's even led a military force in war! And I'm not even joking! He totally earns the title..." If Mr. Magtibay wasn't blushing madly while being introduce like that, I'd be surprised. I can hear both of their hearts beat fast. They might be nervous to each other...
Well, I officially ship it... These two are totally in love. "Wow... That was a very enthusiastic introduction of him..." I commented.
She let go of Mr. Magtibay and started leading me to the others. "Isn't he great...?" she asked, sighing dreamily.
"Uh... Are you sure that you don't think of him as anything else but best friend?" I asked, unable to answer her question. Her heart suddenly beat quickly. She's nervous, I can feel it quite literally. She's totally in love with him and I can only be sure that Caleb loves her too.
"What?! N-no...! I'd never think of him as anything else other than my best friend...!" she exclaimed. I could tell that she's lying by the way of her speech, but I'll let it go.
"Ok. Whatever you say..." I simply said.
