Jack loved flying over the ocean. The sound of waves and the occasional dolphin were the only noises he heard as he sailed through the night under the cloudless sky.
This was his yearly migration. Now that the west side of the world was turning into spring it was time to find a colder part of the world to play in.
After half a day of flying he caught a glimpse of something in the distance. after getting closer he made out the rocky bluffs of Scotland. The trees' leaves were golden with different shades of yellow and reds. Jack smiled
"Hope your ready for winter Scotland!"
As he approached land he charged his staff which made grey clouds appear and escort him to his new playground. Once above the trees he released the energy in his staff and sent a flurry of snowflakes on the unsuspecting forest. He worked through the night and only stopped once the sun had begun to rise. he lightly perched on a tall pine tree and admired his work. The light made the snow sparkle and he admired it.
But not for very long, finally heard the sound he was waiting for.... voices.Jack flew toward the voices
He spotted 3 heads of red against the white snow. they were three boys obviously triplets because they looked exactly alike. they were each carrying sleds and were running up a large hill. jack knew exactly what they were going to do so jack sent some quick flurries to pile up the snow for a perfect snow race.
when they finally reached the top the three boys were panting the climb was further than they had expected thanks to the impromptu snow. but the boys looked over the hill and gave each other a mischievous smile. one yelled "last one to the bottom is a sheep's stomach"
and they were off. they jumped head first onto their sleds and zoomed off. jack flew over their heads as they laughed. jack noticed that one of the boys had fallen behind and was not going as fast as the other boys. jack decided to give him a boost. he froze the snow in front of the straggler and added a little ramp. the combination sent him flying and his eyes grew wide. he let out a shout of surprise and zoomed to catch up with his brothers
jack landed on the snow as he admired his handy work. the boys shot down the hill and were out of sight in a matter of seconds. suddenly jack heard a shout coming from behind him. a blur of orange was all he saw before he was hit on the head by a person riding a sled. the momentum had them fly back a few feet before landing in a soft pile of snow.
"ay! are ye ok?"
jack opened his eyes to find a girl with curly orange hair looking worriedly down on him.
"huh?" was all he could muster. his mind was fuzzy she had hit him really hard.... wait she hit him! normally kids would just pass through him because they didn't believe...
"you can see me?!!" jack said quickly sitting up and almost bumping heads with the girl.
"um aye..." she said thoroughly confused "I kind of hit you... you were hard to miss."
"you can see me..." jack muttered as he laid back down in the snow
"yes! now that we've got that settled!" she said reaching for his hand "would you like to get out of the snow?"
jack blushed a little realizing he was acting like a complete idiot. he grabbed her hand and stood up.
"I'm Merida Debroch" She said "So what's your name Frosty?"
"Frosty!?" Jack asked confused
"Your hair..." Merida said gesturing to Jack's white locks.
"Oh right!" Jack said. why does this girl make him so nervous?
"MERIDA!" called the voice of a young boy "LUNCH!!!"
"I better go." Jack said quickly and turned to leave
"let me make it up for hitting you! Meet me here tomorrow." Merida implored
Jack couldn't resist. it had been ages since someone could see him.
"Deal!" Jack replied and began heading towards the forest
"Wait! What's your name?" Merida called
"Jack Frost!" Jack said and vanished through the trees
