Author's Note: So, um, hi.

This is my first FanFiction and may I say I'm really excited. Please, if you think I'm a good writer than say so and continue reading! If you think I'm a shit writer, than please do not let me know haha. And please read my author's notes, because some contain important information. Thank you and enjoy!

PLUS, yes, I know, I don't use British terms. I know it's colour and not color and flat not apartment and stuff. I was raised in the UK. I just don't feel comfortable with those terms, please do not scold me.

NOTE: I do switch character Point of View's a lot so I'm sorry if that annoys anyone! And there is a lot of Jarry in this story as well as Zerrie, so keep that in mind.

Prologue:

*Zayn's POV*

I observed Perrie as she talked with Louis and Jesy. She looked so happy, yet I didn't want to test the boundaries. If she was going to say yes to my marriage proposal then she needed to be over the moon before I even ask her.

The seven people around us all knew about the bulging ring in my pocket. They all gave me the occasional look, as if they were saying: Break into proposal already!

I was so nervous, I barely even noticed Harry and Jade's flirting.

We were all sitting around our - our as in Perrie and I - apartment, me trying to act as monotone as I possibly could when really I wanted to burst into tiny squares of anxiety. I wanted to propose to her now, to declare my deep and eternal love for her, but alas she was occupied and I was petrified.

I guess I kind of zoned out for a while because once I came back to reality, everyone was gone.

"What happened?'' I asked Perrie, looking around the empty lounge. The black, leather couches that once held seven people were all empty. Perrie was up and about when I faced her.

"What do you mean what happened? They all left." She said, adding a laugh at the end just to settle the air.

"Oh," was all I said.

Perrie yawned with her arms arched behind her back. She was currently standing behind the couch I was sitting on nearest the stairs. I had to twist my whole torso to face her. "I'm going up to bed. You coming?''

I looked at the time on the cable box, to see that it was indeed an appropriate time for sleep.

"I, uh, um," I fumbled around in my pocket for the black box containing half of my work's savings inside. Perrie gave me a confused look until I held the box two inches from her face, the lid off and the ring shining.

That was it. No getting down on one knee, no big sappy speech which I had not prepared, no 'Will you marry me, dearest Perrie?'. Just a ring shoved in her face.

Either way, Perrie being Perrie, she gasped with her hand over her mouth. I guess a proposal was still a proposal, but I was really disappointed in myself that I couldn't give Perrie a traditional kind of thing like she deserved.

"Ohmugosh Zayn!" Perrie waddled around the couch so she could face me. I stood up so we could be the same height as she tackled me in a hug.

The hugging part stopped and I was soon slipping the diamond ring on Perrie's finger.

"I thought you'd never ask," She grinned, tears running down her cheeks.
