Stranger:
First time I heard them scream and yell,
I knew it was a start.
But sadly though I did not know,
That we would have to part.
My parents fought at every hour,
From morning through till dusk.
I knew I couldn't stay here long,
I felt I could not trust.
One night I could not handle it,
I packed my belongings.
Ran out the front door, down the street,
To find my true callings.
Out on the street, I did not know,
How hard it was to be.
To find my food and water,
Was difficult for me.
A month went past to my despair,
A crumb of food was all.
I knew that if I did not eat,
I'd soon be on the floor.
I huddled on the poor street side,
To try to get a dime.
But no one took a second look,
To help the world of mine.
I sat for hours in the cold,
Until a stranger passed.
He took a quick, sad look at me,
and then he sat at last.
He shrugged off his expensive cloak,
And put it on my arms.
I gave him a long puzzled look,
It's yours now, he demands.
He asked if I was hungry, I,
Slowly nodded my head.
He stood right up and grabbed my hand,
and dragged me to be fed.
He took me to a restaurant near,
and sat me in a chair.
I realized I did not know,
The name of the one care.
I asked for his name politely,
He gave a dazzling smile.
My name is Blake, now what is yours,
He said in a while.
I replied with my name, Crystal,
And Blake gave me a grin.
We talked for hours until late,
I felt something within.
I thought of Blake like a dear friend,
Even though we had just met.
He'd been the one that helped me up,
When I was so upset.
A friendly hand was all I need,
To get me on my way.
A kind person that will be there,
To pull me back to bay.
