Hope (L x Reader)

Confrontation

I took a deep breathe as the remaining color drained from my face.
"We need to talk. This time if you try to escape I'll have no choice but to use this." He pulled out a pair of handcuffs and. Susan stepped in front of me.
"She's just a child! She-" he cut her off, grabbed my arm and pulled me next to him.
"I'm apart of the Japanese police force. Do not resist or I shall arrest you." She gasped and he dragged me out of the bakery.

First my parents...
Then I got kidnapped...
Then L...
Now this?

He kept walking. I said nothing.
We spotted a man who had grabbed a lady's purse. Soichero told me to stay but I shoved him aside and ran after the thief. I caught up to him, tripped him and snatched the purse back. I handed it back to the lady who thanked me.
Soichero pulled me back.
"Why did you do that! You could've been killed!" I looked down and scoffed. "Sorry..." I mumbled.
He grabbed my arm tightly and started to walk again.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To the police station." I felt myself tremble as he looked back at me. He pulled me to the corner to look me in the eyes.
"What's wrong thief? Scared that you've been caught?"
Tears filled my eyes and I whispered to him.

"I'm a thief because no one has ever helped me in my life. I've been through hell and sacrificed so much. This is you repay me? I had just saved a woman's purse. I haven't even met my parents. The person who gave me hope in this world destroyed my heart! They don't need me anymore!" Tears flowed down my face as my voice grew louder.
"Is this how you repay me? you don't even know what I've been through!"

Soichero stared at me and I stared back.
"Why should I believe you. How should I know that you aren't just saying that to get away?" The little color left in my face had drained and I held back tears. "I'm not lying..."
My tears had dried and he bent down to my height.
"Why don't you believe me?"
I asked. "I won't be in anyone's control anymore. All I want to be is free." I pushed his arm off me.
"I will do anything that is necessary to be free Soichero. I will not hesitate to hurt you if you get in the way of freedom."
He tried to grab me again but I swiftly moved myself to the side.
"You must follow me or el-" I cut him off.

"Or else what? Kill me? Arrest me? I'd like to see you try." He pulled out a taser. "I don't want to do this."
I sighed. "Tasering someone who's not even half your age, how noble."
He pointed it at me. "Don't get smart with me." I watched hands tremble.

"Go on then." I pestered. He put it back into his pocket and put his hand on my shoulder.

"I know people who would shoot you in an instant. Look, I promise I won't hurt you. Just come with me." I looked down and shuffled my feet while mumbling a small "fine..." At him.
He turned around and started walking. I ran behind him to catch up and started walking at his pace.

Soichero's Pov

I can't believe I had just convinced her to follow me. She actually believed that I wouldn't hurt her. I'll do anything it takes to get her to speak but I'll have to be calm at first.
