Prologue

"Please madam I'm sorry" Maelynn pleads over and over again as her mother screams hateful words no little girl should ever hear.

"You pathetic excuse of a human can't you do anything right" her mother screams while rummaging through the closet for a vacuum pipe, "here it is now get over here so I can give your punishment" she continues to scream at the little girl cowering in the corner.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry madam" Maelynn repeats again and again as the metal makes contact with her flesh.

Maelynn is a 9-year-old girl with an abusive mother, with no one that cares about her life she continues to face her mother.

Her father is nowhere in the picture after the day Maelynn turned three her father just disappeared, some say he ran off to be with his secret lover others say he was murdered.

The only thing Maelynn has left to remember him is a small teddy bear he gave her.

Her mother is an alcoholic and drug dealer ashamed of her little girl means Maelynn has never taken a single step outdoors.

This little girl is special but the world around keeps knocking her down. She is capable of anything as long as she puts her mind to it. She just needs someone to believe in her, to show her that there can be love in her cruel and merciless world. With kindness and trust, this girl is destined to change the world.

And not just this one.
