I walk down the hall of my school, surrounded by clowns and idiots. Each one with a different personality, ranging from totally nice to complete bitch. I, on the other hand, fall into the category of the weird. Why? Because I'm different. Different than all the others. I see things, people and animals alike. But the problem is that the others don't see them. Only me.
These people don't scare me. They are the total opposite. It's almost like you could say I have a guardian angel, if those even existed.
I'm almost to my class when a couple of big and beefy football players come running from around the corner and crash into me.
"Sorry!" they yell before they keep going.
'People really do like to piss me off..' I mumble to myself, loud enough for only me hear. I get up and listen to the squeaking of their shoes. I sigh and continue on. Suddenly, it all stops. There is absolutely no sound from anywhere. I whip my head in every direction.
There is no one. No sign of life anywhere. There's books, papers, pens and pencils, everything, just on the ground. Some classroom doors are open partly, or some all the way, but they are mostly all closed. There's no light in any of them, but the hallway has a few lights flickering. All of a sudden, there's a man, just standing there, staring at me. My eyes widen in shock as I feel like my heart was being ripped out. I gasp and fall to my knees, closing my eyes and hoping the pain would stop.
*ring ring ring* I suddenly hear. I open my eyes and look around. Everything is back to normal again, but how? It took me a minute, but I then realized I had another vision. I was also late for class, which didn't help my case. I get up and run to the class, grabbing the handle as it's about to shut.
I quickly walk to my seat and sit down. The teacher didn't seem to notice me come in late. She turns around and smiles. For a split second, I look at her eyes. There's something wrong with them. They're black. Black as coal and cold as ice. she blinks and they go back to being a deep brown.
"Hello class, I'm you're substitute teacher for today! My name is Mrs. M," She says cheerfully. Her eyes scan the room and harden to a glare when they land on me. "Ms. Redford, may I talk to you in the hallway?" she asks.
I nod and get up as I feel 30 pairs of eyes all on me. I walk out and close the door behind me.
"Where is he?!" she screams at me.
I give her a confused look and shake my head. "Excuse me, but I'm lost. Where is who?"
"Stop playing dumb with me, I'm not in the mood!" she yells as she kicks me into a locker. "Tell me where he is!"
I let out a cry of pain as my back hits the lock. "Who is he?"
"The boy, Trevor. The supposed savior. He'll kill my master, the one I answer to. Where is he hiding?!"
I crawl away towards another door at the end of the locker set, shaking my head. I want to cry, but I can't find the tears.
"Oh no, you're not going anywhere. Tell me where the he is!" she yells as she runs over and picks me up by my neck.
"I don't- k-know-who you're-" I try to choke out.
"I said, don't play dumb!" she throws me closer to the door.
I inch closer and manage to open the door. I slam it shut and lock it as I hear her pounding on the other side. I back up to the corner and cover my ears, crying to myself. Soon enough, I cry myself to sleep.
*Hours later*
I wake up to the sound of the door opening, but I don't open my eyes.
"I found her." I hear a man say softly.
"Well, is she okay?" another man asks.
"I don't know Sam, she's asleep. Should I wake her?" The first man asks.
"Go ahead Dean, just be gentle." Says the other man, obviously Sam.
"Hey, hey sweetheart, wake up." He says to me. I open my eyes and look up, suddenly coming face-to-face with the most gorgeous green eyes I've ever seen.
