I could barely see the moon light making its way through the water making its way to the bottom.
My lungs were burning.
That's when it hit me.
I push myself off the bottom, fighting my way to the top.
I reach the surface. Thrashing around to keep myself afloat while trying to fill my lungs back up with the air I needed. I could hear the sound of a boat motor in the distance and turn my head towards it; making sure it wasn't coming back because of the noise I was making.
It was getting farther and farther away.
I look towards the shore, if I was to swim to it how would I find someone to help?
I start swimming, not getting very fast without struggling to breath. The shirt swim which would've taken any healthy person 5 minutes took me 20.
I stumble onto the shore, collapsing to the ground. The whole world was spinning around me, but I got to my feet and head straight, knowing there has to be a way out of here.
And I was right. I made it to a road.
"Left or right?" I say to no one but myself.
I turn right and start walking.
I got ten minutes into the walk, already feeling the fatigue setting it. No cars, no sign of life anywhere. I mentally started debating if I should turn around and try the other way, when I saw a light.
I stared running, ignoring the spinning world around me.
I ran up to the car, and started talking the window.
The man look at me through it, and rolled it down.
"Can I help you?" he asked.
"Help." I say before my knees gave out and I fell to the ground.
