Love Can be described by Four letters

I was so excited. Ok I am very excited.  Soon Brookfield Zoo would be home to two giant pandas! Mei Lin and Tan Tan are on their way from China and I get to be their head keeper. I found out that the pandas would be coming here about 6 months ago when the zoo started construction on the panda house. I knew from the very beginning that I wanted to be their keeper. Pandas are my favorite animals. About 3 months later construction was done and I found out that I would be their keeper. Now finally the pandas were on their way. Now personally I was a little nervous but the zoo’s vet named Dr. Davis assured me I would be fine.  Dr. Davis is also my boyfriend. Now the pandas will be arriving within twenty-four hours. As of right now the pandas are still in China. They would be in the air on their way to D.C. The next day they will be arriving in Chicago. The most obvious thing to do is to sedate the pandas. I will be ready and waiting when the vehicle arrives at the zoo. Assisting me will be Dr. Davis, Briana, Daniele, and Alexis. The three girls are the other daytime panda staff. We spent the day getting the house ready for the pandas’ arrival. People would describe me as tall and beautiful. I’m about 5feet and 9inches. I have gorgeous blue eyes and shoulder length blonde hair. Alexis or Lexi as everybody calls her is 6 feet 2 inches, waist length black hair, big brown eyes and the Chinese skin tone. Briana or Bri and Daniele or Dani are sisters. Both girls have brown hair and gorgeous emerald eyes. Dani is 5’’10 and Bri is 5’’11. I have worked with Dani before. We worked with the polar bears. Bri just graduated from high school and starts College in December. I think it is kind of cool that Bri wants to work and follow her sister’s footsteps or at least for now anyway till she gets started in her career.  Its October now. She was looking for a job to help pay for college and wants a job to look good on her resume. Lexi was born and raised in California. She just transferred from the San Diego Zoo. As if to describe the four of us, I would be the super model, Dani would be the brain, Lexi would be the surfer girl and Bri would be the newcomer and mouse. Dani and I are the oldest at 26, Lexi is 22, and Bri is 18. Once we were done for the day I went to find Dr. Davis or Tom. I really wanted to find him before Dani’s party later this evening. I am well aware that I shouldn’t stay out super late because the pandas are arriving tomorrow morning and also Tom and I are meeting some friends for drinks later this evening. I finally found him at the zoo’s office building. I went to his office and he saw me. He and I both said hello. He quietly rose and kissed me on the cheek. “Ready to go, Tom?” “Yes I’m done.” “Great lets head to the car and head home.” “Sure Nat. would you like me to take you home or to my house?” “I need to go home B needs me.” “Alright.” “Hey would you like to go to a party tonight?” “Sure Babe I love a good party.” “Great let’s go.” Yay I got what I wanted and I get to spend an hour with the love of my life. Ok I always end up getting what I want. Tom loves to spoil me and I love being with him.  Tom and I have been dating since high school and continued dating through college. Then we both ended up at the zoo. I just know we will be together forever. An hour later I was finally home and Tom promised me to return in two hours. It’s about 4 now. I opened the door and Banana my two year old golden retriever was waiting for me. I got a lot done in two hours. I fed and walked the dog, then took a shower, curled my hair, put on a skirt, stiletto heels, and a strapless top. I then did my makeup and switched my daytime purse (a zebra stripe one) to a night purse (a shimmery gold purse). At 6 sharp Tom showed up. That is so him. Always on time. “Wow Nat I leave you for two hours and now you look hot.” “Thanks.” I felt hot. Tom even dressed up. He usually prefers jeans and a t shirt but today he wore a neatly pressed shirt and dark cargos. I find him looking completely irresistible.   About twenty minutes later we arrived at Dani’s. I saw Lexi and Bri, some other people who work at night or in another part of the zoo during the day. We all had a great time. A few hours later we left to go meet some other friends for drinks. We were meeting Tammy and Doug. Tammy is my best friend and Doug is Tom’s best friend. The two of them have been married about 3 months. They met through us. Tammy and I were at a night club and Tom met us there and he brought Doug. Doug started flirting with Tammy and Tom took me out on the dance floor and when we came back Doug and Tammy were making out.  When we arrived we met up and ordered drinks the two guys got a beer and I ordered a strawberry margarita and Tammy ordered water. So I was surprised that she didn’t order anything alcoholic. When our drinks arrived I asked if she was sure she didn’t want a drink. She said she wanted one but she couldn’t. She told us she was pregnant. Tom and I were surprised. Doug looked quite proud. Tom was kind of quiet and Doug was doing all the talking. I have never heard Tom being that quiet. He appeared nervous. Tom whispered something to Tammy and she said they had something to do and they would be back in ten minutes. Tom moved closer to me and took one of my hands. “Nat I love you and I always have.”  By this time he was down on one knee. “Nat will you marry me?” “Oh Tom of course I will.” “I love you Baby.” “I love you to Tom.”  He gave me a six carat diamond with princess cut and diamonds on the band. He slipped it on my left ring finger.  Tammy and Doug came back and told them our good news. We all left soon after that. Tom and I headed towards our car holding hands. It was almost midnight. I pulled out my I Phone to check texts. Tom drove me home and kissed me goodnight and told me he would pick me up at 6:30 the next morning for the arrival of the pandas. Oh shoot I had forgotten all about that. With the announcement of Tammy being pregnant and me being engaged my mind was elsewhere. I got home and went to bed. I got up at 5:30 the next morning and was ready for Tom to pick me up. I was excited for the pandas to arrive. At 6:30 Tom was outside waiting and ready to go. I told go Banana good bye and went outside. “Are you ready for the panda’s arrival?” “Yes with all the excitement last night I was had almost forgotten.” “Well you have to admit it was worth it don’t you think?” “Yes of course.” “Good.” “But now I have to focus on the panda’s arrival. It’s going to be a rough couple of days. The pandas go on exhibit next weekend, you know for the big party at the zoo. Then I am seriously considering staying at a hotel instead of going back and forth from home. I want to get to know them and have them know me.  Does that make any sense?” “Of course you are just doing your job. I get it Nat.” “Awesome.”  We walked into the zoo holding hands. He went towards his office and I went towards the panda house. I had to give a quick meeting for the staff. I quickly found out the pandas would be landing in about two hours and I was asked if I can go get the pandas. I said sure. But before I could leave I had to give a quick meeting. “Good morning everyone thanks for coming in so early. Now we have a big day ahead of us. Bri and Lexi can you clean the inside? Everyone but Dani your in charge of the outside and Dani you’re in charge of supervising.” The girls all went about their jobs. I grabbed my purse and phone and info to pick up the pandas. Before I knew it I was off to O’Hare. About a half an hour later I was at the loading and unloading zone of the freight area. The plane just touched down on the runway. I sat on the luggage cart with the luggage guys, and then I saw the plane coming towards us. I was getting more and more excited. About twenty minutes later the pandas were being loaded into my truck. I was taking to Lisa who lives here and went with the pandas from D.C. She said that Mei Lin slept the entire trip (which is a good thing). Tan Tan on the other woke up in DC and wouldn’t go back to sleep. Randy who met us at the airport, was driving the truck. Lisa and I were in the back trying to wake up Mei and calm Tan. I kept talking to Tan and he kind of liked my voice. When we arrived back at the zoo Mei Lin was awake and she was TICKED. She kept growling at me and everybody else. Tan was I guess talking to her and she would calm down for a few minutes then go back to growling. I climbed out of the truck and the cages were lowered in to the enclosure. I opened the gates and Tan came out first. Mei Lin stayed very close to Tan. I instructed the staff not touch or talk to the pandas. I wanted to observe them and let them get use to their new home. I gave the pandas bamboo and Mei Lin was a much happier panda after she got a snack. An hour or so later Tom came in and observed / examine the pandas. We had all fallen in love with the pandas very quickly. They had seemed to get used to their new home very fast. I went into their enclosure and pet Tan Tan. Mei Lin was hesitant at first but after watching Tan she allowed me to pet her.  I think that they fell in love with me almost as fast as I had fallen in love with them. I left the panda enclosure and headed toward the office building. As I was leaving Laura the nighttime keeper was giving the pandas dinner. I went into Tom’s office he left me a note that said Nat I will be back ;). I went on his computer and typed a notice for the panda staff.                                                                                                    Notice ….
