"You're worthless!"
"Go back where you belong; in the trash!"
"Tch. (Y/N)'s clothes are always so tacky."
All I could hear in my head at night before I go to sleep are the popular girls' horrible words about me. Who knows, maybe they were just jealous. But that doesn't change the fact that it felt all too true.
I decided that I was going to stay up again on my phone all night, like usual. I was scrolling through my (favourite social media site) when I saw that Alfred had messaged me about fifteen minutes after school usually gets out.
It read:
"Hey, (Y/N)! I saw you at your locker this morning, but you weren't in class... is something wrong, dudette? I'm here for you bro, if something is wrong, then don't hesitate to tell your hero, kay?"
I was so sick of the stupid sophomore bullshit, so I just decided to stay in the girl's bathrooms the entire day, because fuck good grades..
"Why can't I just be normal...?" I sighed, and I put my arm over my eyes after collapsing on my bed.
Buzz buzz
"Social media doesn't lie, dudette. You're online. xp"
You smiled at your phone.
Sorry, Alfred. I'm just so done with all this bullshit.
What do you mean? Was someone bullying you again? If so, the hero is here, and he's not afraid to beat someone up.
No, it's ok
LolHopefully my little 'lol' can lighten the mood... with Alfred, it usually works.
Fine, if you say so, dudette. Suit yourself. Gotta fly, sorry bro.
I set my phone on your nightstand after putting on (f/s). I looked up at the ceiling, wondering if those girls spoke the truth.
I dozed off soon after.

(Alfred's POV)
I set down my phone on my bed before running downstairs after Mattie called me.
"Is something wrong, dude?" I asked. "N-no..." Matthew whispered even quieter than usual."You don't seem okay..." I said as I pulled up a chair and sat next to him. "Dude, if there's something wrong, then of all people you can tell it's your heroic brother." I told him, hoping that he'd respond.
After a couple seconds of awkward silence, Mattie just nodded then said, "Yeah... there is something that I'd like to talk about..." he said with a light blush.
I think I know where this is going! I thought with a smirk. "Ooh.... does somebody have a crush?" I said with a teasing tone. "S-so what if I do?!" Matt exclaimed, his face flushed.
I couldn't help but let out a laugh. "It's ok dude. I get it. So who is this lucky girl?" I asked with a sly grin.
"... (Y-Y/N)..." he said, looking down at Kumajiro. "Who are you again?" The polar bear asked. "Canada..." Matthew responded.
I smirked a heroic smirk at what he said. "Ah, you know how cool it would be if you two got married?! My sister-in-law would be one of my best friends!" I beamed as Matthew blushed more.
"Do... do you think that you could help me...?" He asked. "Of course dude! You've never been too smooth with the ladies, so let's start now!"
ext day, your POV\
I sat at lunch with Francis, debating on if Napoleon was a good guy or not. "Ah, I believe that he was trying to do the right thing, but he was carrying it out a little bit too... violently..." I said. "OH, MON DIEU, OUI! SOMEONE WHO AGREES!" Francis yelled sarcastically.
Arthur gave a smirk in the background. "What is it, Angleterre?" Francis frowned.
"Just that it's been over two hundred years and people still believe my rumors about Napoleon being short."
Francis sighed in annoyance, and I giggled at their fights. I looked over to the lunch line to see Alfred and Matthew walk over to our table. "Hey, dudette!" The American beamed of happiness.
And all I could do was awkwardly sit there.
(Lol, what are you doing with your life, author-san?)Matthew looked like he was about to say something when some group of girls put ranch dressing in my hair. It felt like it was seeping through my skin, and I ran to the girl's locker room without hesitation (or thinking).
/timeskip/
The school bell rang and I walked out of math class and over to my locker. It's finally time to go home. When I saw my locker, it had the words, "GO DIE" written all over it with a black marker.
My eyes teared up and I fled the corner, accidentally bumping into Matthew, and we both fell backwards.
When Matt noticed that I was crying, his eyes widened. "(Y/N)... are you ok...?" He said, putting his hand on my shoulder. I wanted to swatt it away, but I was too scared that I would hurt his feelings; he was just too nice, and I didn't want to do that to him.
I shook my head 'no' and I put my hands on my face, sobbing into them. "I-I can't take this anymore!" I screamed. Everyone around us just ignored us; even if we were friends with the popular kids doesn't necessarily mean that anyone gave a shit about us. I was the hated one, and Matthew was the neglected one.
My eyes widened when I felt Matthew put his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. "It's ok, maple." He said, messaging my back lightly. "It's ok."
"No, Matthew, it's hopeless! I don't matter to anyone! Nobody would really care if I died!" I shouted without thinking.
Matthew gave out a small chuckle. "And here I thought you wouldn't be the person to keep forgetting about me. I would care. I love you, maple." He kissed my forehead, then hugged me tighter. I stifled a sigh. "I'm just so hopeless..."
"We can be hopeless together, you know?"
I pushed him away a little bit, but not enough to break the hug completely. "Mattie...?" I said, blushing. "What is it, maple?" His eyes locked onto mine. "I love you too."
