Sammy peered out from behind the cage bars. Someone had come and closed the door late last night. It was the next morning and Sammy had slept pretty restlessly. But he sat up and waited for the humans to start filing in in crowds. To pass time, Sammy started washing his fur again. After a little while a girl who looked about Sixteen came in and looked around with her mom. She looked at the dogs, then the cats. When she got to Sammy, her face softened.
"Awwww! This cat is adorable Mother. Do you think he is a good choice?"
"Yes I think he is a very wonderful choice. Shall we get him my sweet?"
"Yes I think he will be very happy in our home."
Sammy wasn't sure what it was with this girl, but he wasn't so sure he could kill her. Something about her was different than all of the other humans. It almost felt as if she just might understand him. Not like she could read his mind, just maybe she could feel his pain and sorrows. But either way Sammy tried to put it out of his mind as the car rumbled down the road to Lord knows where. But eventually he dosed off and slept the whole way to his new home. Which relaxed his nerves and mind some.
