Emerson yawned and rubbed his eyes as sunlight streamed through the window.
Where was he, again?
Oh, yeah. He recalled all the events of yesterday. Hopefully they'd figured something out.
There was a small knock on the door.
"Yeah?" Emerson mumbled.
The door opened, and the dark haired girl came in holding a plate with what Emerson hoped was food on it.
"My mom wanted me bring you breakfast. She says to come downstairs after you're finished." The girl handed him the plate and closed the door again.
Emerson looked at the plate. An assortment of strangely colored foods were on it. Emerson picked up what looked like a lavender apple up, and bit into it. Surprisingly, it tasted kind of like oatmeal. Interesting.
Emerson finished his food quickly, and found his way downstairs, where Alden, Della, and the rest of the family were waiting for him.
"Good morning, Emerson." Alden smiled.
"You too." Emerson nodded.
"Unfortunately, we weren't able to find out much over the night, but we will continue research. In the meantime, we have something to give you." Alden said, holding out what looked like an ordinary leather bracelet.
"What is this?" Emerson asked.
"It'll help you. It makes sure that your sight is always pure, and it clears your eyes from any enchantment, enabling you to see the truth." Della explained.
"This only enhances your gift of The Sight," Alvar added.
"Wow, thank you." Emerson smiled an put the bracelet on.
"Oh, and this. It's called an Imparter. Just say 'show me' and whoever you want to call. We'll also use it to contact you, so keep it handy." Alvar handed Emerson a small silver square. Emerson slipped it into his pocket and smiled.
"Well, I guess it's time for you to go." Alden smiled sadly.
They walked out to the enormous front gates.
Alden pulled out a crystal, and made a path of light. "This will take you back to your world."
"Okay." Emerson walked towards the path, but turned back at the last second. "Thanks, all of you. For everything. But will I ever see you again?"
"Only time will tell, my dear boy." Alden said.
And with that, Emerson stepped into the beam of light and was swept away.THE END
