As she strutted down the corridor towards Dr. Hopper's Office, confidence exuded off of Regina in waves. She had a certain sway in her hips that was sensual but dignified, her coiffed hair bounced ever so slightly with each click of her heels and her chin was held high while her blood-red lips were pressed in a thin emotionless line. At that moment Regina looked every bit like the queen she had been molded to be.

Though, underneath it all, the woman was terrified, scared of what the future could possibly hold in store for her. After spending nearly twenty-eight years knowing how each day would occur, Regina had grown used to the sense of security time being frozen gave. Now that such an amenity was gone with the breakage of her curse, she was left to the whims of time and susceptible to the unknown.

But it wasn't just the passage of time that terrified Regina. No, that was now inevitable, a trifle she knew she would soon come to care very little about. Unlike the incessant thoughts that had come to plague her mind since the Wraith incident that occurred a little over a month ago. At first, Regina regarded these thoughts towards Emma Swan as being simply coincidental, nothing too serious to be taken into consideration.

Although when casual stares started to turn into looks of longing, accidental touches morphed into the need for the slightest bit of contact, and her feelings towards the blonde teetered between mere toleration and pure adoration, Regina soon became painfully aware of what was actually taking place. She was falling in love, no she wasn't just falling, she was... plummeting.

These feelings she had were unlike anything she had ever felt before. They demanded attention with an almost humanistic need to be recognized, not allowing themselves to be buried within self-doubt. And Regina had no idea how to deal with them, not that she hadn't attempted to, because she did.

She had done almost everything she could possibly think of to distract herself from the attraction she felt towards the blonde sheriff until she came to the realization that nothing, no matter how time-consuming or thought-provoking, could deter the feelings she had. Now she was forced to "face the music" as some would say, but the problem was Regina had absolutely no idea how to even go about pursuing Emma.

Of course, she had seduced many in her past, but Emma was more than a mere conquest that could warm her bed. Regina wanted more than just the blonde's body. She wanted everything that she wasn't able to have with Daniel; everything that had been stolen from her all those years ago. And after all that time she was forced to live without her heart's one true desire she was finally ready to claim what she rightfully deserved.

As Regina approached her destination she let out a soft sigh, raising her fist just slightly above her head she rhythmically rapped it against the hardwood door. With the sound of her knock echoing through the hallway, one of Regina's perfectly sculpted eyebrows raised in surprise. Never in the two months since she decided to start these little meetings with Dr. Hopper has she ever knocked.

Instead, she made her presence known by barging into the man's office whenever she found it most convenient. Which Regina had come to find was a lot less excruciating than having to wait to be allowed in and mentally cursed herself for her lapse in judgment even though it only took a few short minutes for the redheaded man to answer the door.

"Regina," he greeted with a polite smile as he stepped to the side to make room for the mayor. "It's so nice to be able to see you again. Why don't you come in and make yourself comfortable?"

Sending a curt nod in Dr. Hopper's general direction, Regina walked into his office where she stops just short of the only window in the room. As she looked out on Storybrooke, Regina began to think of how much the little town has come to change in such a short amount of time. In fact, it almost seemed as if there was a sense of rejuvenation laced within the humble streets that gave the once sleepy town a more lively feeling than what it had before. One could even come to argue that Storybrooke had been given a sort of new beginning as to speak and they'd be correct in a roundabout way.
