Nothing Gold Can Stay

Chapter 3

I woke up to the annoying sound of an alarm beeping.

A weird noise alarm at that.

Almost like a beeping sound of an fire smoke alarm in my house.

Like that day when my father tried to cook and ended up almost burning down the pan he was cooking on and the stove.

It was then that I remembered everything that'd happen the day before.

The invitation.

Coming home to see my house burning down.

My-My family in the hospital.

My family in the hospital dead.

DEAD.

My dad.

My mom.

IMy little brother.

Gone forever.

At that thought an ear piercing scream came flying out of my mouth without me knowing.

Suddenly I heard many pair of feet shuffling in what assumed was a room.

"Angel!" a worried familiar voice said.

"Alex!?" I asked as I opened my eyes,more liked tried as I was blinded by an very irritating intense light shining in my eyes.

"Bloody hell!!! Will someone close the damn curtains or something!!!!" I yelled as I quickly covering them.

When I heard someone close them i opened them again.

I could easly make out everyone as my sight adjusted to the brightly shinning light.

The first thing i saw was Alexs beautiful face, inked with worry, saddness and pity.

Pity, that was directed towards me.

As soon as that thought came I quickly froze as that numb feeling started to creep up again.

Painfuly eating away at me like frostbite until it would soon  swallowed me whole.

Not to soon I was starting to blackout again, that's until I heard Alex's alarmed voice ringing in my ears.

" Angie, Angie!!! Stay with me please!!! Stay with me!!!" he told me desperately as I tried so hard not to let myself fade into unconsciousness.

Besides his crappy attitude these last few weeks he was my best friend and I knew he cared about me, it was at times like these that he showed it and let me know he still cared for me, that I was still his best friend. My parent, my family had just passed away but knowing that Alex was still with me gave me a slight comfort. To know that I still had someone with me that was close to me and that I truly loved, someone that would never leave me to be alone in this world.

"Their gone" I whispered to Alex.

"But I'm not and Ill never leave you, I will always be there for you Angie, I promise you that if its the last thing I do." he said to ma softly as he pulled me in a tight embrace.

"I love you, Angel" he said finally using my full name, and I knew he meant it, I knew he loved me, just not in the way I loved him.

"I love you too." I said as I kissed his cheek and hugged him back tightly.

" Now what do you say we get you the hell out of here" he said stretching out and yawning out loud like a big bear. "I cant say I love this place, they have terrible food!" he said attempting to get me to laugh, I just smiled softly at him.

"Sure" I whispered "How long have I been out?" I asked getting out of bed and stretching myself.

"A ay and a half" he answered nonchalantly while my eyes went wide. "I've been here since then, the rest of the guys went home yesterday, since we couldn't all stay here"

"Thanks Alex" I said honestly to him as he interwined our fingers together pulling me out the hospital as the summer breeze hit me.

What could go wrong, I thought quickly taking it back before it would turn against me, but it was to late.

Sorry haven't updated in a REALLY long time, school isn't exactly 'easy' right now. Anyway got a laptop so its more easy to write (used to update on my phone), someone tell me that's not hard!! Writing long sentences on you're phone!!!!

Anywayyyyyyyyy..............Ill try to update soon. Don't know when, where, how, or........when, but for now.
