Chapter 3: Another Side of an Armored Boy

Still several hours away from waking up to go meet Kairi at the island, Sora had passed out since six at night, and since then had been having dreams of unfamiliar, yet familiar faces. A tall muscular boy with brown hair, and a Keyblade that reminded him of the Earth below his feet, a girl with blue hair and a Keyblade that looked like crystalized water who was about as tall as the man. And then there was the other boy, Ventus. He somehow knew his name, yet he didn't have any memories of ever meeting him.

He was shorter than the other two, yet he couldn't make out what he looked like or that of his Keyblade. Sora then woke up. Ventus had already woken up hours prior, had explored Castle Oblivion and escaped from The Realm in Between, something had told him he'd find Vanitas back at Destiny Islands. The place where Terra had sent him to escape Master Eraqus' rage.

Sora yawned then leaned up, he couldn't sleep because of that boy. Who was he? Why did he know his name? And why does he look familiar? He shook his head before seeing somebody in the window run off. "Hey!" Sora instantly threw on his clothes and picked up his phone before running off and dialing Riku's number. "Riku! Please answer your phone!" It vibrated a few times before he answered, "Sora... why are you calling me at nine at night?" He yawned before Sora started to tell him what he'd just saw. "Riku, somebody was watching me sleep through my window! I've been chasing them for a few minutes but can't catch them! Their heading towards your house right now!"

Riku hung up and before he knew it, Sora saw Riku ahead in a battle stance. "Come at me!" He jumped up and slashed downwards but fell right threw him as he had barely faded away before reappearing. "Darn! Sora, its an illusion, the real ones around here right now, watching us!" Sora ran up to Riku and helped him up before they had their backs against each other. "Riku?" He kept his eyes fixed on his side, "Yeah?" While scanning his side, Sora asked him, "Do you have any idea who it could possible be? Like Organization XIII?" "It can't be an Organization member, it wasn't wearing a hood, it was wearing a mask. And armor." "A mask and armor?" An image of an armored man appeared in Sora's head. The Lingering Will. He had met him after walking through a portal at Disney Castle. They never did figure out why he or the portal was there though... "Riku, when I say now, hold up your Keyblade and get ready to block a bunch of attacks. One... two... now!" Sora and Riku jumped in circles, up and down, left and right, and all over deflecting a heavy gust of wind. The armor stopped in front of them, Sora realizing it wasn't what he had encountered before. "Who are... you?"

"You know exactly who I am! You ruined my life!" The man charged at the two before Riku used Zantesuken. The boy in the armor was dazed and Riku had knocked him off his feet onto the ground before Riku picked him up by the collar and slammed him against the wall. "Tell me now, why were you spying on Sora!" the boy had responded with, "Sora? What are you talking about! Thats Vanitas, he's dangerous and must be destroyed! Why do you side with him?!" Riku and I looked confused as we eyed the boy. Sora could feel the boy's boiling anger from under the boy's armor."Vanitas? No, you have the wrong person, this is Sora!" Sora put my hand on Riku's shoulder. "Riku. Let me talk to him." It took a few minutes, but Riku groaned and dropped the boy to the ground. He had pointed his Keyblade at Sora, already ready to murder him. Sora felt a relentless anger from within the boy, wanting to help him. "You have a Keyblade too I see?" Sora summoned his and showed him; right now Sora had been using the Oathkeeper chain, or Kairi's good luck charm. Sora grabbed the tip of his keyblade and held the hilt down to him. "You like my chain? I got it from a friend." He was stuck to the ground as Riku put Graviga on him. "Friends? You? I thought friends held you down." The boy scoffed. Sora sat down by him and summoned away the Keyblade.

"You clearly don't know my name so I'll tell you mine again. Its Sora. Not Vanitas." He remained quiet. "What's your name?" He looked at me through his armor and mumbled. "What was that? I didn't hear you." "You should know! It's Ven!" Everything got quiet for a minute, then Sora stuttered, "V-Ven?" Still looking at Sora, the boy -or Ven- yelled, "Why do you look so confused!" Sora motioned for Riku to let him be free of his gravity spell. The armored boy stood up and pointed his blade at Sora. "You shouldn't have done that. I thought you were smarter than that." Sora pushed his key aside and put his hand on his heart. "Ven. I remembered you finally..." Ventus was confused. This Sora boy did seem extremely familiar to him, but he could've sword that it was Vanitas.
