AAREN

Prologue: Meet And Greet

"Shit!" I hissed as Dani bumped my elbow, making me smear my mascara all over my eyelid, "Watch it, will you?" Dani laughed, "Don't over-do it, Aaren. You don't want the frat boys to think you're a clown, or something." I scoffed, eyeing my best friend, "You created this monster."

Dani merely laughed, "Yeah, okay." She continued applying her lipstick, puckering her lips. I rolled my eyes, smiling to myself as I rinsed the excessive mascara off of my eyelid. The door behind us opened as Ariana opened the door, stumbling into the room, "Is this dress good enough?" She slurred, smiling. I laughed, "Are you pre-drinking?" Ariana giggled herself, "Yeah. But anyway, is this dress good enough?" She mumbled, her smile still plastered on her face.

I eyed her dress up and down. It was a tight, black dress, with a small slit up the side of her left leg, exposing a small amount of skin. All in all, it was slutty, but it fit her body. "Yeah, sure. Be prepared to get some, though." I smiled. Ariana fist pumped, "I will get some!" She cheered before collapsing on the bed. "Yeah, or not." I mumbled as I finished curling my last strand of hair.

I unplugged the iron and turned to Dani, "Do you need me to straighten your hair?" I asked, as she struggled with the flat iron.

She nodded gratefully and I laughed, grabbing the iron and quickly running it through her hair, finishing the process within five minutes. "All done!" I cheered, smiling. I had to admit, we all looked stunning, except for Ariana who was passed out on the bed. I tickled her sides and she shot up, her mascara smeared down her cheeks.

I wiped it down and quickly applied some more for my tipsy friend, then stood her up. "Okay, let's go." I said, opening the door to our room, entering the hall of our sorority room. Katie, our sorority house leader for Alpha Pi Omega smiled as her eyes connected themselves to us. "You guys are just in time." The bleach blonde smiled, pushing us downstairs where all the other girls were standing.

They all looked the same with their basic, dyed, blonde hair and tight dresses, caked in makeup. Since this was a party for the fraternity houses and sorority houses, all the cute boys were going to be there, and they obviously wanted to impress them, or something.

"Okay, let's go!" Katie yelled, opening the door. We all shuffled out in a huge, group, single file, to the house right across from our's. The front lawn was littered with crushed, red solo cups, and drunken party-goers. We made our way across the street and carefully stepped around the people passed out, where we were greeted by one of the frat boys who smiled, opening the door for us.

The sickening smell of alcohol filled my lungs as we entered the house, and the loud music pumped at a dangerous level. I wasn't one to always enjoy parties. They actually concerned me. But on the other hand, Ariana and Dani enjoyed them with such delight, they were already grabbing a couple of beers from a cooler nearby. I shrugged, decided to wander around a bit.

I was quickly greeted with a view of a couple making out in a secluded corner, and I cringed, turning back to the cooler. I walked over, grabbing a beer and opening it without ease. If I was going to survive this night, I'd atleast need something to calm me down, or at least make me feel a bit buzzed.

I chugged the sour liquid, and twitched at the taste. It wasn't something I'd prefer over a good cup of tea, but I kept drinking it anyway as I explored the place. I quickly learned that there were two floors.

I assumed the bottom floor was for innocent people who just wanted to have fun, have a couple of drinks, and dance. The top floor was for people who were expecting to get laid- hey, what can I say? The boys' rooms are up there, and I've already seen several scantly-clad looking girls walk up the stairs accompanied by a frat boy.

I shook my head and scanned the room. Everyone looked the same- but then, my eyes connected to a boy with beautiful, blue eyes. His messy, blonde hair was hidden underneath a snapback, a smirk plastered on his face. He was surrounded by girls and a couple of guys, blunts connected to their pink lips. He examined me for a few more seconds, our eye-contact not breaking, when he finally made his way over to me.

I turned away from him and sighed. I've never had any kind of attention from a guy.

"Hey." An Irish accent said from beside me, "It's rude to stare, you know." I rolled my eyes and looked up at the boy with blue eyes, "I could say the same thing to you." I reached for my bottle of beer, but I realized it was empty and I huffed. "Need another one, love?" He asked.

I nodded and he quickly made his way to the cooler, retrieving a bottle of beer for me. I smiled when he returned and grabbed it from his hand, opening it and taking an eager swig from it. "Someone's quite the drinker." He said, smirk still on his face.

I rolled my eyes, "Why are you even talking to me?"

"Because you're hot, and whenever I see a girl who looks like a good shag, I don't just let her walk away from me." He replied, moving closer to me. I scoffed in disgust. This guy thought he was the shit- well, he probably was, but that didn't matter. He couldn't just get whatever he wanted- especially a girl who looks like they'd be good a sex. No thanks.

"What's your name?" I asked, trying to wave away the subject. He laughed, "Well, it's Niall, Niall Horan. I mean, you'd probably want to know it if you'd be screaming it out loud."

I nearly choked on my beer. This guy was persistent, and my vision was becoming blurred. "That's not going to happen, Niall." I said, getting up from the stool, taking my beer with me. I stumbled a bit, but regained my balance, glaring at him through my glazed eyes.

He smiled, "Oh, that's a shame. Too bad there's no way you can possibly avoid me. I always," he breathed, inching closer to me, "Get," he pushed up against the wall behind me, his hands placed firmly on my waist, "What," his lips were inches from mine as his hands dug further into my waist. That's gonna bruise. "I want." He finished, grinding his hips into mine.

I stood there, shocked, as he placed a firm kiss on my neck, sucking on the sensitive skin. I gasped as he pulled away, a smile on his face. He released his grip from my waist and walked away, retreating back to his friends.

I shook off his encounter as I took another swig of my beer. I wasn't gonna let that guy make his way into my heart. After all, we always want what's bad for us. But not this time, Niall Horan. Not this time.
