Chapter 1 - Introductions
--------------------------------------------
On a cold, blustery winters night in the small Cornish village of Polperro is where our story begins.
Natalie lived in Polperro's frost bitten harbour in a small flat above a bakers shop. Natalie was average height with long curly hair the colour of iced coffee. Born and raised in Hayle, Natalie had no family nearby and her only company during the long freezing winters nights was her pet owl, Chip. She'd named him Chip because his toffee coloured coat was flecked with brown spots that looked like chocolate chips.
On this particular night, Natalie was curled on the sofa reading a book by candle light because the electricity had cut out an hour previously. Yawning, she thought to herself she really ought to go to bed but she knew it was pointless as she wouldn't sleep. Worry was eating away at her clawing her insides trying to get out. She was worried because she had very little food in the house and when she gone shopping earlier that day their had been scarcely more than a packet of sugar on the shelf. She didn't know what she was going to do for food once she ran out completely and to top it all there was a power cut so she couldn't heat up anything to eat. Her stomach gave a pitiful groan and she decided that she'd buy some breakfast at the bakers and resolve her problems in the morning and with the tiny ray of hope that it would all be better in the morning, she headed off to bed.
