Prologue

Rosemary Penhallow, the daughter of French shadowhunter Jia Penhallow and wizard Patrick Penhallow. Her brother Sebastian had been adored by everyone and loved by all girls, so when the time came and the trace was taken off her wand, she left her family behind.

Now two years later, Rose lives in the cosy town of Sunnyville where everyone knows everyone. With new friends, she has the life she'd always dreamed of. But all can change in one day, especially if you have a need for adventure.

When waking up in the morning, only to come face to face with a vampire from another town, Rose did what she did best. She hung him upside down and watched him struggle before interrogating him.

Damon Salvatore, son of Lillian and Giuseppe Salvatore in 1839. With a brother who shared his girlfriend, Damon isn't really happy with him and is set on revenge. Then to find out his girlfriend is alive and in a tomb, that's a big plot twist.

Now he's on a "quest" to release his vampire girlfriend from a tomb, and needs a witch to do that. It wasn't very hard when you come across a woman who can make you hang upside down with a few weird words.

So Rose was given a choice. Go on an adventure with a lovesick murderer, or stay at home with a life of reading and talking.

And yet she never knew choosing one option, would change her life. For better or for worse, she still doesn't know.
