Chapter 4: The concert

(*A/N* For progressing the story in a timely manner, I'm skipping time a lot. It is now April. Jade is still homeless and she goes to school. Nobody knows she is homeless except for Mrs. Morgan and Mr. C. Today is the concert and Jade goes there after school.)

*Jade's P.O.V*

Today is April 21st, CC's birthday and the day of the concert. I went on Twitter and wished him a happy birthday before I went to school. I showered and got ready in the old girl's locker room before anybody showed up. My day went on as normal. At the end of the day, I put my school backpack in Mrs. Morgan's room and then gathered my personal belongings from Mr. C's office. I walked out of school and headed for the concert venue. It took me about a half hour to get there by bus. I had my pass on me and everything. I had rented a locker to put my stuff in for the concert and then I walked to the venue.

I was a little late getting there but the meet and greet was still going on. I waited in line and then everything caught up to me.

"I'm actually meeting my heroes today. This is honestly the best thing that has happened to me in forever. Oh my god!"

I was the last one in line until I could finally meet them. I walked into the room and saw them and almost broke down in tears. I contained myself for the most part but a few tears slipped out and ran down my cheek.

"Hello." CC said.

"Hi." I said, trying to hold myself together.

"You alright?" He asked, a smile on his face.

"Yeah." I said while nodding.

"Alright." He said.

He signed the poster and passed it along.

"Happy birthday CC." I managed to say.

"Thank you." He replied.

I walked a little further and was now in front of Jake.

"He's an old man now." Jake said, jokingly.

I laughed a little, still trying not to break down. CC, Jake, and Jinxx laughed as well.

"Hey, I'm not that old." CC said, defending himself.

"Haha, I know. Just joking with you buddy." Jake said back.

He signed the poster and passed it to Jinxx.

"Hello." Jinxx said, smiling.

"Hi." I mumbled back.

Another tear slid down my cheek.

"Are you okay?" He asked, sounding concerned.

I nodded back and smiled.

"Alright." He said, smiling.

He signed the poster and passed it to Ashley.

"Hey." Ashley said, smiling.

"Hi." I said.

I was so close to breaking down but was trying so hard to keep my cool.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah. Just nervous." I said.

"You shouldn't be nervous. We're not gonna hurt you." He said.

I just smiled back, another tear slipping from my eye and falling down my cheek.

Ashley signed the poster and passed it to Andy.

"Hello. What's your name?" Andy asked, holding his hand out.

"Jade." I replied, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Andy." He replied.

I smiled and another tear slid down my cheek. Andy signed the poster and looked back up at me.

"Thanks for coming to the show. I hope you have fun." He said.

"Yeah, me too." I said, another tear slipping from my eye.

"Is everything okay?" Andy asked, his facial expression changing from happy to concerned.

I nodded, on the edge of loosing it.

"Are you sure?" He asked again.

That was it. I shook my head 'no' slowly and hid my face behind my hands as the tears started flowing. Andy got up from behind the table and walked around to hug me. I hugged back and sobbed into his chest.

"It's alright." He replied.

He rubbed my back soothingly.

"He has no idea..."

After my little episode, I let go of the hug and saw all of the guys by my side with concerned looks on their faces.

"What's wrong?" Andy asked.

I sighed and told them. I told them about my abusive parents, how they kicked me out on my birthday, how I've been homeless for all this time, and how I've been looking forward to this day to just forget everything that has happened and enjoy some good music.

"Wow..." CC said. They were all shocked and tearing up slightly.

"I had no idea." Andy said. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine, really. I don't want people to have pity for me." I said.

They all just stood and looked at me in shock.

"Well, you have an all access pass, you can watch the show from side stage." Ashley pointed out.

"Yeah." Andy said.

"Okay." I said.

"Follow us." Andy said.

I grabbed my poster and followed them to backstage. I sat side stage as they were getting ready to go on. They went one by one onto the stage and the crowd went wild.

"Hello Upstate New York!" Andy said into the mic.

The crowd went wild. I cheered along as well until a big man approached me.

"You're not supposed to be back here." He said.

He was the venue security guard.

"But Bvb said I could." I said. "And I have a pass." I lifted up my pass to show him but he pushed it away.

"Sorry, venue rules." He said.

I followed him off the stage and I went into the crowd. I still had a great time. They are amazing live.

"Thank you and goodnight." Andy said.

They bowed and left the stage. People started leaving as did I.

"I wonder if I could see them again at their bus?"
