The Move

We reappeared on the street next to the school in front of an oncoming limo. My mom fell to her knees from nostalgia, not even seeing the limo, so I held up my metal hand in a defensive pose, tensing my legs for brace of impact. I vapor traveled the people in the limo out onto the grass gently. I knew the car wouldn't be able to stop from this distance, but I still had the water molecules hold the steering wheel straight as they slammed down on the brake. The car skid, but still kept going at the same pace. I took at deep breath and... Booom! When I released my breath I realized that there was a crater surrounding my mom and I. There was a huge hand-shaped dent in the metal going all the way to the back of the engine. I quickly dismantled the limo so it wouldn't blow up, and made the tools I would need appear in my hands, using Hephaestus' handy, dandy blessing. I set to work and less than two minutes later the car looked brand new. I then used my father's earth-shaker powers to level out the ground I was standing on and around. I turned to my mother and used Apollo's blessing to take away her queasy stomach and any scratches from the flying debris. I next turned to the people I vapor-traveled out of the car, only to see Sir Edward Lampard and his assistant Angela Johnson, or AJ staring at me with interest. I quickly bowed. "I apologize for the inconvenience of our appearance, Sir Edward, and AJ. My mother and I were just going to buy a house close to Akane Academy for us to stay at before the school year, and for her to be able to visit me when the times permit." Mom just stood there staring. I turned to her and snapped my fingers in her face. She looked at me, "Yes Percy?" I smirked, "Well, mother, if you could stop staring, could you please introduce yourself to this kind, young gentleman and his assistant?" Mom shook her head, "Where are my manners? Hello, I am Sally Jackson. If I may ask, who are you?" I snorted, "Mom he's one of the Six Heads I was talking to. If I'm correct, the representative of the United Kingdoms?" He smiled, "Yes, so you are the interesting lad that is the Akane Academy founder's reincarnation. Amazing, but, I must ask, how did you manage to stop the limo and teleport my assistant and I out of it?" I shook my head, "I know that you are one of the Six Heads, but I am afraid that I have been told by someone of higher authority not to tell anyone, including your council." Not completely a lie. He sighed, "Well, happy moving Jack." I turned toward him, "Jack?" He smirked, "Yeah, you surprise me like a jack-in-the-box." I hummed. "Well then, goodbye Edward." I grabbed my mother's arm and dragged her to the nearest neighborhood. I had done some searching on my laptop before the call, and I was positive that my mom would love the house I was going to show her. It was a three story house with a pool in the front yard. It was a beautiful mansion with cream colored walls and a baby blue roof. A separate building housed all of the pool equipment, and the balconies had intricately carved metal railings that made them look like black waves. Wanting to make it a surprise, I closed Mom's eyes. When we got close enough to see everything, I allowed her eyes to open. She gasped, her eyes watering, "Percy, is this the house? It's beautiful! How would we ever be able to afford it?" I chuckled. "Easy, Mom, did you forget about your credit card?" She blushed. I waved the family over. "The Dales wanted to move, so I took them up on their offer before they had to put their house on the market and get a realtor." I read their minds and looked at the house from their perspective, and I know you'll like it. It's not junk or anything, they just wanted to move with the husband's job. I smiled warmly and handed the family the money I had taken from my unlimited bank account. Mr. Dale counted it before smiling as well, and saying, "Thank you, Mr. Jackson. I appreciate you buying the house from us on such short notice." I grabbed the keys from his outstretched hand, and responded, "It was my pleasure, Mr. Dale. I hope you have great luck with your job." He nodded his head in thanks and his family went to their pre-packed car and drove off. I grabbed Mom's hand and dragged her into the already furnished house. As my mom looked around, she looked at me accusingly, "How much was this house Percy? Really." I sighed, I knew she was going to ask me this. "Five hundred and sixty thousand dollars." "What!?" She screeched, dropping the vase she was admiring. I quickly snatched it out of the air, and replied, "Yeah...." She looked at me murderously, and then sighed, letting her face soften. "Alright, I can tell you just wanted to make me happy. Thank you Percy, I love it." My face lit up, and I kissed her cheek. "Love you Mom." She smiled, "Love you too Percy." I yawned. I knew that she would like to know the place before I went to school, so I quickly gave her a tour ending with our bedrooms. I snapped my fingers and walked into my room, while Mom just looked confused. I summoned our clothes from the other house to this one, so we wouldn't have to worry, for now. I quickly changed into some comfy pajama pants and sling off my shirt, making it slide into the laundry basket. I smiled, score. I thought to myself sleepily as I undid my bed and flopped down onto the pillows, pulling the blanket over my chest. I was out like a light.
