The War Beyond The Horizon

The lab

I don't know what has happened. I just know I woke up on the floor... In darkness. Suddenly this light bulb in in the center of the metal ceiling started flickering. I looked around and saw myself in an isolated room with a mirror, chair, and some blood. Everything seemed so dizzy and blurry. I stood up, looked at myself, and saw that my wrists had rope burns and that I had bruises every where.

I looked and saw this metal stainless door. I went for the door to get out, but it was locked shut. I panicked and said "no no no" as trembled in fear. I kept trying to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. My heart started to race and my face felt steamy. I quickly stopped and heard a male voice say "bring her to the lab. If she's awake, knock her out." It feels as if I've been struck by a lightning blot. I looked around trying to find something to help me escape.

Since my hair was in a bun, I took it out and had 5 bobby pins with a hair tie. I took one of the bobby pins and put the rest of the stuff in my pocket. I broke my bobby pin in half and started working with the lock as quickly as I can. My hands trembled and quivered so much they couldn't open the lock. My heart started to race and my body started to boil. I took a couple of breaths and went back to the lock.

However, I had to stop because the door Handle shook. I took a couple of steps back and clinged onto the wall, preparing myself for what ever was coming. Again, I started breathing hard. The door opened to this man in a suit. He tried to hit me. But I doged him and did an attack on titan flip on him and he went to the ground. I took that time to run and escape from this place before he got up.

Moments later, an alarms went off saying "prisoner has escaped. I repeat, prisoner has escaped." "Was I a prisoner?" I thought to myself. I stopped in my tracks and heard people coming. I fled to the closest room I found and hid in the dark room where I watched an army pass by through a small window through the door. I turned around and sat down. Took a couple a couple of breaths, and looked around. There was a doctor's uniform out in the corner.

I put on the uniform, wore a doctors mask over my face so that no one would identify me, and a hat just in case. I walk out of the room and quietly walked through the hallways. "This place is like a maze!" I whispered to myself. I looked around for an exit. The hallway seemed to go on forever. Seems like I won't be out in a while.

Soon, heard some man say, "Mrs. Hampton." I stopped in my tracks. "Yes sir." I said trying to sound older than I was. The man walked around till he was in front of me. I slowly looked up to a fresh faced man with dirty blond hair about an inch long and a bit of a mustache and beard. I want you to go to the lab and give a blood test of Hope Gaven. 16 years of age with brunette hair with a streak of white hair on the left side of her forehead. Because of the nurse hat he wasn't able to see my hair. Nor was he able to see who I was. "yes sir." I told him. Then he walked away.

I continued walking through the echoing halls looking for an Exit. But because of curiosity, I looked for the lab too. Wanting to find out what happened to me. And what I am doing here. I put my hands in my pockets and continued walking. Although something felt weird in my right pocket. I slowly stopped and moved my hands around my pocket. It felt like a folded paper. I took out the paper and unfolded it. "Of course, a map." I said to myself. The lab was in the west wing. I looked around wandering where I am, then looking at the map. I was in the east wing.

I followed the map until I reached my destination. I went into the lab and looked through all these files. There I saw a woman, then a man. I saw pictures of them after they've been abused. "I'm not the only one.." I said to myself I went onto the computer and Typed in my name, Hope Gaven. But then I heard the door rattle. I quickly hid underneath a sort of hospital bed. A woman came in. Labeled "Mrs. Hampton."

I kept watching her. Seeing what I can find out. She went to her computer and looked at it. Thank god I erased what I did before she came in. She started typing and clicking her mouse. The computer looked like one of those Detective movies when all the green words are appear on the black screen. Suddenly her Phone started buzzing. Then she answered "hello?"

"We lost Hope Gaven." It was that dirty blond hair guy from earlier. "What happened?" Mrs. Hampton answered back. "She ran off. Somewhere in this building. Do you have the serum?" "It's almost done sir" she replied back. "She's the one we need Mrs. Hampton. Let me know if you see anything unusual." "Yes sir." She said again. Hearing that I started to panic. My heart started racing. I tried to refrain myself from breathing too hard, but I was too late and Mrs. Hampton heard me. She started walking towards the bed.
