CHAPTER 7

John woke up to his phone vibrating in his pocket. He unwrapped his arms from round Tammy as soft as possible and stepped out the room to make sure he didn't disturb her sleeping. Looking at the caller ID he realized it was an important business call. John's political days as senator were over, but due to some smart investments made right out of college he owned some of the biggest realtor properties in and out the country including resorts, hotels and apartment buildings. After hanging up the phone he looked around and decided to tour the house that Tammy had bought for herself. Right after the divorce Tammy refused to take any type of financial settlement other than Mya's monthly child support payments. Considering Johns infidelity in the state of New York Tammy could have taken over three fourths of his worth, But she was anything but a spiteful women basically stating she wanted nothing of his to the judge.

After walking round most of the house he concluded that it was a nice little two story home, but his girls needed more. He stopped in the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water before heading back up to the bedroom where Tammy was. Opening the door quietly he saw Tammy bawled up next to a pillow. He couldn't help but smile at his angel sleeping so peacefully. Just then he heard a door open and close downstairs followed by laughter. He jogged down the stairs to the kitchen and met Mya's eyes as she became wide eyed and screamed "Daddy!!!".........running over he stooped down and picked her up in his arms.

"shhhhh stop screaming you're going to wake up Mommy"

Pam turned around at Mya's outburst with surprise all over her face. "ummm hey John.....what are you doing here? Is something wrong? Where is Tammy?" She asked all at once peering around him to look up the strairs where he appeared from.

"No No she's fine.....she's upstairs sleeping" He stated before looking down at Mya and kissing her on the head.

"o..oh ok" she said not saying nothing else. He could look on her face and tell she was bursting with curiosity. But he didn't say nothing either. He figured Tammy would explain it if she wanted Pam to know. So instead he decided to lighten the awkwardness.

"So how have you been Pam.....and that husband of yours." He said smiling

"Hey you tell me. You talk, to him more than I do and I live in the house with him." She said smiling "but im doing great. "

"That's good.....I haven't talk to him in a few weeks now. I kind of missed our conversations; I guess I'll have to hit him up soon"

"Yes do that.....so how has everything been for you?" She asked turning to take carry out plates out of a brown bag

"Been pretty good trying to keep everything afloat. It's a hard job but somebody's got to do it." He said chuckling

"I hear that......why want you stay and eat with us I bought Chinese"

"No I think I should be going now" John said moving to put Mya down in her booster chair. But she was not having that.

"Daddy stay and eat eat" she said pouting knowing he couldn't say no to his baby girl so he decided to take Pam up on her offer.

As they set and ate they chatted and laughed for about an hour before Tammy appeared at the door with looking refreshed and rejuvenated.

"hey sleepy head...I bought Chinese but John said you were sleeping so we decided not to disturb you." Tammy could look at the smirk on Pam's face and tell she was gone be drilled once John leave.

"Well that was very considered....how's mama big baby? You eating like a big girl now" Tammy said leaning down to kiss Mya's cheek. Mya was so preoccupied with eating she didn't even look up.
