Now everyone knows the story of the white rabbit and Alice.
Well I'm no Alice nor am I hoping to end up in wonderland. I don't even know how to get there.
Once again I got lost in my thoughts....where did the lady go. Many doors surround me, each begging with silent whispers to open them and peer inside.
"Now, What are you doing out of bed?" A gruff voice said in a kind voice...almost melodious.
As I turn around I see an old man with a kind smile walking towards me. No doctor's uniform, no id, ....who is this stranger? What does he want from me?
I run into the nearest door with a sign filled with blurred letters. Before I collapse I can make out "M....l...i"
The birds are flying with me. No, wait, they're not flying with me....I am a bird. They don't recognize my difference...I don't even know how much of a bird I look like. The city is behind me, slowly dissappear ingredients under a blanket of fog. All the worries and cares are gone. My mind had one simple mission: fly. Then all of a sudden; fire...in my face...on my feathers....and I'm falling falling ever so gracefully but with immense speed.I wake up to the old man saying my name. I reach my hand out to his face and he takes it in his own and puts them up to his cheek.
"How are you honey?, you had quite a run in with the door today" a small chuckle escapes from his wrinkly lips. " I'm your grandpa...you'll be going home with me soon."
Am I supposed to believe this man? True, he looks kind but looks can be decieving, I mean just watch any movie ever made. His face is blurred by my vision. It makes him look much older than he probably is. I wonder why I never knew him?
" Me and your father had quite an argument and he wasn't very eager to let me into his family; your family". I sit up startled as another chuckle escaped his lips. "You asked the question out loud, do you want some water?" I feel my head moving up and down as he hands a plastic cup with cool water. It feels like a waterfall in my mouth, intensely soothing my dry throat.
I croak out a "Hi" and try to smile...but I can't tell if I actually manage to smile on the outside. "Where is everyone?"
"You'll find out in time, now you have to rest." The door shuts close and I don't even have the energy to get up and chase him. Grandpa, huh? I didn't know he was alive...and he didn't even tell me his name. My hand slaps against my cold forehead and I wince in pain. What the hell have I gotten into?
