Chapter 5

"So, do you want us to fill you in now on everything or do you want us to wait until you're out of the hospital and feeling a bit better?" Leah asked, she's always been the more gossipy of the three of us, so we always depend on her for our new information. I thought about her question for a moment before saying "Lets wait until I'm feeling better so we know I can take it all in." They both nodded as if agreeing with me that we should wait and we continued walking until we got to a room that looked like a library and walked in. The library looked nice with a bay window and window seat with two big arm chairs on either side of the window on one side of the room and floor to ceiling shelves going across the other walls. There were also tables spread out through the middle and a big librarian's desk sitting in the very center. This was deffinetly going to be my favorite room while I was still here.

"Ooo, look at all these books!" we all said in unison then giggled. Oh did I mention that all three of us were major book nerds? Ya well we are. I walked over towards the romance section while Leah and Jamie walked over to the fiction. I was in the mood for a good romance novel.

I was still looking through the romance section when Leah came up next to me and quietly whispered, "My mom needs me to work at the coffee shop so I gotta go, and Jamie's my ride so so does she but we'll come back tomorrow so we'll see you later."

"Oh ok, tell your mom I said hi, bye I'll see you later." I whispered back to her while turning around and waving bye to Jamie who waved bye back to me.

I continued looking through the books not sure what to read. I felt a presence by me but I figured it was just someone else looking at the romance books and didn't bother with it."Oh that's a really good book, if you haven't read it already you should, but a fair warning, you'll probably cry at the end." I jumped at first not expecting someone to talk but then recovered fast to look at the person next to me.

It was a girl with long dark brown hair. She had a few freckles around her nose but no more than that. She was sitting in a wheel chair with and IV coming out of her arm, she also was pale, but not the sick pale or the pale that happened when you never go out in the sun. No she had more color to her than that but she wasn't as tan as the other girls I knew and I'm sure when she was out in public she stuck out like a sore thumb.

She stuck out her hand, the one without the IVed arm, "I'm Tierra by the way."

I shook her hand "I'm Lily, it's nice to meet you."

"You too, and I wasn't joking about the book by the way, it really is a good book and you might cry at the end."

"Oh I know, I already read it but it's an amazing book, I was just thinking about re-reading it."

"Oh really? Ya that's like one of my favorite books, well besides The Mortal Instruments Series of course but you probably don't know what that is and its not a romance book so I don't count it when I'm talking about romance, if that makes sense?" Tierra said while laughing slightly.

I laughed with her and said, "No I totally get it, and actually I do know that series, I've read all the books that are out at the moment and I'm counting down the days until the next one comes out."

We just kept talking like this for hours as I decided to check out The Fault in Ours Stars and Tierra and I went to the cafeteria to get some food becayse the both of us were starved and we both had no visitors that we knew of that we needed to see. We became close friends easlily and when I found out she went to my school I was a llittle shocked I didn't know her, until she told me she had come just this year and then I remembered the amnesia and was saddened. How many other people had I met this year that I wouldn't remember when I went back? Would there be anyone significant like Nick? Or was he the only change I made? Would they all expect me to remember them?

I decided not to dwell on these thoughts thinking it would only worsen my mood and right now my mood was slowly starting to rise up after I met Tierra. I soon found out that She had been here on several other occations because she's clumsy and falls a lot but that this had been the most sever as she had fallen down the stairs after tripping on her shoe laces at the top. She had cracked one rib, and broken an arm and a leg.

After Tierra and I finished what we had eaten we both decided we were tiered and wanted to get some rest but we decided that we would meet up again tomorrow at around noon so we could continue with our convorsation.

I got back to my room, which was strangly enough, three doors down from Tierra's room, and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
