You woke up early and went to make breakfast. You remembered you still had the snail pie that Toriel gave you so you went to heat it up. Since the skeletons didn't have a microwave, you just used the oven on a low heat. Once it was the temperature that you liked it, you walked back into the living room with both slices and sat one in front of Melody. She woke up to the smell and started to eat it right away. You just giggled and ate yours.

"So, are we gonna continue on our journey?" Melody asked.

"Hm... Well my 'feelings' aren't acting up so if it's alright with Sans and Papyrus, we can stay longer." You said. Melody smiled and nodded. Soon Papyrus popped out of his room with a lot of energy.

"GOOD MORNING HUMANS!" Papyrus said.

"Good morning Pap." You and Melody said at the same time.

"ARE YOU TWO GOING TO LEAVE?"Papyrus asked with sadness in his voice.

"Nah, we don't need to. If it's alright with you guys, we could stay here for a day or two." You said.

"THAT SOUNDS WONDERFUL! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, SHALL ALLOW YOU TWO TO STAY FOR AS LONG AS YOU WISH!" Papyrus yelled.

"Calm down Papyrus. You're gonna wake up your family." Melody said giggling. Just then Gaster walked out of Papyrus's room.

"FATHER, DID I WAKE YOU?" Papyrus asked.

"Yes, but it is fine my son." Gaster replied sleepily. Papyrus went down to the kitchen and started to cook. Melody followed Papyrus and helped him.

You sat down on the couch and Gaster sat beside you. "You know, I really do think Sans likes you. I don't know him that well since I fell into the core when he was just little, but I know love when I see it. The question is, do you like him?" Gaster asked.

"I don't know. I mean, I like him as a friend. I've just never really felt love before, so even if i did love him, I wouldn't know unless he broke my heart or something." You replied.

"Well then how can you tell that your friend likes Papyrus?" Gaster asked.

"I can just tell. She has been acting different around him than any other boy that she knew. She just seems really attached to him." You explained.

"What do your feelings tell you about him?" Gaster asked. You tuned into your feelings and concentrated.

"It tells me that he is a good person. And that I need to stay here for a while. It doesn't tell me why I need to stay but it just does." You replied.

"Heh, maybe it wants you to stay until you grow to like him." Gaster suggested.

"Why are you trying so hard to get Sans and I together?" You asked laughing.

"Because I know he likes you, and I want him to be happy. My sons mean the world to me. I've been able to watch my boys through the void. The last time Sans was genuinely happy was when the previous human came. Their name was Frisk. She was just a little kid and I'm sure Sans felt like he could be her big brother. He was always following her to make sure she was ok, but... Frisk got killed by Asgore. He's been depressed ever since then. When Queen Toriel told Sans about you and Melody, He seemed to become happy again. I'm sure that if you two were to be together, he will be happy." Gaster explained.

"Wait, Frisk? This is where she disappeared to? She was a kid in my orphanage that disappeared one day. I didn't know her that well but she was still a cute kid. So she died?" You asked.

"Sort of. It was late in the night when the king killed her so he just put her soul in a container for the night and would have absorbed all the souls in the morning. Well, Sans snuck into the castle and stole her soul. I'm not sure if he absorbed her soul yet, but I know he has kept her hidden." Gaster explained.

"So when humans die, the heart that pops up when fighting stays behind." You said to yourself. Suddenly, your (f/c) soul appeared.

"They don't always come just during fights. With enough training, you can bring out your soul at anytime. If you would like, I could teach you. It's really not hard." Gaster said.

"Sure. I bet the orphanage would be amazed at it." You laughed. For a few hours, Gaster started teaching you how to show your soul. Gaster was right, It was really easy to do.

"Be careful though, when you show your soul when you're not in a fight, any monster can steal it and absorb it. You wouldn't die, but you would be pulled into your soul." Gaster said. you nodded and stared at your soul.

"Um, why is (y/n)'s soul showing?" Sans asked from upstairs.

"Oh, good morning sleepy head." You said putting your soul away. Sans walked down and sat on the couch.

"Where's Melody and Papyrus?" Sans asked. You pointed to the kitchen.

"so your soul is (f/c)? that's awesome. What made you want to learn to pull out your soul?" Sans said. Gaster explained everything. During the explanation, Sans's normal smile faded.

"heh, wanna meet frisk?" Sans asked.

"Well, I already know her. She used to live at the orphanage with me before she disappeared. But I'd like to see her soul." You replied. Sans nodded and motioned for you to follow him. He walked outside and walked to the back of the house. Sans unlocked a door that was in the back.

"in here." Sans said, opening the door.
