*THE PROMISE
A girl was running very fast. She was running so fast that she fell on a pile of grass. She started to cry and looked for her mom but she couldn't find her. She sat on a bench and cried. Suddenly, a boy sat beside her and wiped her tears. After a while, the boy convinced the girl to stop crying and they looked for the girl's mom. The boy brought the girl to the police station and they waited for the girl's mom. Luckily, after a few minutes the girl's mom came and they hugged each other.
After that incident , the boy and the girl became bestfriends. They were always with each other everywhere they go. They always sat on an old oak tree. The boy always puts a flower on the hair of the girl and she pays him back with kiss on the cheeks. They were always sweeter than that of a candy on your lips. But a time came that ended their happiness, the girl had to move. They both cried and the girl gave her goodbye but the boy didn't, he said that it's not the last time that they're gonna meet. Then the girl left with tears on her eyes.
After 13 years, the girl was already a teenager. She met lots of guys in her school and had many relationships. But she knew that there's only one person that she truly loves, the boy whom he called "bestfriend". Ever since they left that town, she hadn't seen that boy nor talked to him. She doesn't have any communication with the boy.
One day, the girl was drunk and she was driving recklessly along somewhere. She didn't know where she was going. She was driving too fast .... and
*BOOM*
her car crashed into an old tree. Hopefully, she didn't get hurt. She opened the door of her car and came out. She sat on a bench and cried. A guy sat beside her and wiped her tears. The guy said "Did you lost your mom again?". She was surprised and looked at the guy. She hugged the guy and bursted into tears. She didn't notice that it was the place where they first met and it was her "bestfriend". The girl confessed her love to the boy. She had realized it a long time ago. The boy didn't say anything.
After a while, the guy stood up and the girl asked him where he was going. The guy smiled and said "I have to go and serve others". The girl cried. The guy hugged the girl and kissed her on the cheeks. The guy said ...
"I promise you that I'll be waiting for you at the shrine of that church .. "
(Pangako ko sayo, hihintayin kita sa altar ng simbahang iyon.)
and pointed at the church across the street. And then the guy walked away with a smile.
Everyday the girl goes to that place. She always sits on the bench waiting for the guy. But the guy never came back.
After 5 years of waiting, her parents fixed an arranged marriage for her and another guy. The girl learned to love that guy but not like the love he gave to her "bestfriend". She wanted her wedding to be held at that church (where the guy promised he will be waiting at). Her parents agreed to her and made that church the wedding venue.
Everything was successfully done but after the wedding , the girl ran and sat on the bench and cried. Her mother followed her and asked her why . The girl answered ....
"The priest who married us was the guy who promised me that he will wait for me at the shrine of that church .. "
(Ang paring nagpakasal sa amin ay ang lalaking nangako sa akin na hihintayin nya ako sa altar ng simbahang iyon. )
