AAREN
Chapter One: You Again
I rolled over, smacking the alarm clock on the bedside table. I had a major headache, and I wanted to work out this morning. But that was a major flaw in my plan, considering I had a hangover.
I got up from my bed, and made my way to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, grabbing two pills from the Advil container. I filled a cup with water, rinsing the two pills down as I sighed. I only remember a few things last night, and Niall Horan was one of them.
He was an odd character. I couldn't put my finger on what it was about him. There was just something that made me wonder how he ticked.
On the other hand, I envied my friends. They were sound asleep, sprawled across their beds, tangled in their sheets and lost somewhere in an atmosphere of careless dreams, where I wasn't really one to brag. I was wide awake with a banging headache, and I had no idea how I was going to survive college.
I sat down on the edge of my bed and sighed. I really didn't feel like falling back asleep, and I had nothing else to do. I decided to at least go for a walk. Maybe fresh air will help a hangover, and hopefully not make it worse.
I quickly got dressed and made myself presentable as I grabbed my favorite book and quietly exited my dorm room, and crept down the hall. No one was up at this time; and when I mean no one, I mean like, no one on campus. At all.
I carefully exited to sorority house, a smile of success spread across my face as I made my way down the old, porch steps and down Greek Row. The campus wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
Everywhere you look, fraternities and sororities lined the block, not a soul even bothering to flutter their eyes within the houses.
I sucked in a cool breath of air, deciding to make my way to the fountain.
The fountain was a popular hang-out place for everyone on campus- except at this ungodly hour. It was a huge, garden area, flowers and trees surrounding the place, accompanied by benches, and to top it off, a beautiful fountain placed in the center of it all.
It also had wi-fi.
I quickly made my way there, my headache diminishing as the sun peaked from behind the rooftops of the houses. I glanced at my phone and realized it was only 8 o'clock in the morning. Nobody will even dare to open an eye 'till around eleven, especially if they're equipped with a nasty hangover.
I sat down on one of the park benches, opening my book and flipping through the pages until I finally found my book-marked page. I smiled as I indulged in my own little world, completely unaware of my surroundings.
"Hey!" A voice called from behind me. A familiar voice.
I simply ignored it. It's rude to bother someone while they're reading.
"Hey!" They called again, obviously wanting a punch in the neck. I huffed, bookmarking my page and looked up, squinting against the sun in my eyes. A familiar boy with blue eyes and a snapback entered my vision, and I scowled, opening my book again.
"Go away, Niall. I'm reading." I said, removing his presence from my atmosphere.
"I never learned your name." He said, obviously standing in front of me. I rolled my eyes, "No, you don't need to know it." I replied, re-reading a line on the page in front of me. He snatched the book from my hands, a smile spread across his face.
"Niall, give it back." I spat. I was totally not in the mood for this boy's idea of fun. "What are you reading?" He asked, avoiding my demand. "Why do you care?" I asked, grabbing at the book. He pulled it away from my reach, his stupid little smirk still spread across his lips.
