Chapter 6: She's kinda cute

*Jade's P.O.V.*

I woke up on a soft, lumpy pillow thing. It was moving up and down and was wrapped around me. I turned my head slightly to the left to see a tattooed arm.

"I know those tattoos..."

I was on top of Ashley. I turned my head to the right and he noticed I was awake.

"Hey, sleepyhead." He mumbled softly, smiling.

I looked up at him and smiled back.

"He has a cute smile."

"Hi." I said, smiling awkwardly.

He smiled wider at my reaction.

I looked around the place a bit. We were on the couch in the front lounge area. It was dark outside and the bus wasn't moving. I assumed mostly everyone was asleep and we were still at the rest area.

"What are you thinking about?" Ashley asked quietly.

I looked back up at him.

"I don't know. Just thinking." I replied.

"Oh." He said.

He pulled me closer to his chest and I nuzzled my head into it.

"He's really soft. I could definitely sleep like this."

I closed my eyes and drifted off, feeling eyes on me as I did but I didn't care.

*Ashley's P.O.V.*

Jade turned her head slightly and woke up.

"Hey, sleepyhead." I said quietly, smiling.

She looked up at me and smiled back.

"Hi." She said, smiling.

She seemed lost in my face and I smiled wider. She looked around the bus for a little bit, thinking.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked, intrigued with her.

She returned her gaze to me.

"I don't know. Just thinking." She replied.

"Oh." I said back.

"Damn, she's cute. Really cute."

I held her closer to my chest and she nuzzled into it. She slowly drifted off as I watched, admiring her features.

CC, Jake, and Jinxx had gone out to the bar for CC's birthday but I decided to stay behind with Jade. I know, not like me at all but I wanted to make sure Jade was okay while Andy went to get business done. And also because Jade is really cute and I wanted to flirt with her, which is very much something I would do.

Anyway, CC, Jake, and Jinxx had just returned and were super loud. As they had entered the bus, I shushed them.

"Woah, what's up with you, Purdy? And why didn't you come drinking with us?" CC asked.

"Because I didn't want Jade to be uncomfortable here by herself with people she didn't really know." I replied.

"Wow, alright. You sure you're okay, buddy?" CC asked again.
