Do you believe in ghosts? If you ask me, I actually believe in it even though I haven’t seen one. My family is not an ordinary people except for my father. He is just a normal guy who married a girl with a supernatural ability. I mean, not just any super heroes power like she can fly, or she can make spider web through her hands, or anything but she can see ghosts. My little brother inherited her ability so do I. Nope, I’m just joking! I didn’t actually inherit her ability because I have a unique one. Are you curious about it? Well, before that, let me introduce to you something about me first.
My hair is auburn and it’s long. It reaches in my waist and it’s a bit curly at the end. I am not tall like my friends are. I am just 5”2. I am the shortest among my peers. And somtimes they call me "little girl". I am slim. My skin color is white but pale. I am just a normal teen age high school students with a normal way of thinking. I am not stupid or a geniuses like my best friend, Holy, or my little brother, Elijah Yohan, or my ex-boyfriend, Nathaniel. I’ll introduce them later but now? I have to eat first because I’m starving.
So here am I, walking to the cafeteria because its lunch and it’s too troublesome to get home just to eat lunch, seriously, because our house is far enough to travel half an hour. I have to tell you, I’m friendly and have lots of friends.
After I paid my lunch at the counter, I walk to where my friends are sitting. The table is just enough for a dozen of people to sit, yeah I know, it’s big. Well, the remaining vacant seat is three because the other two are not here; all of them are waiting for me. As I sit down, I heard my favorite friend speaks. Well, he’s my favorite except for my best friend who’s sitting beside me.
“Hey guys, my Aunt let us celebrate our Halloween party in her new mansion!” That’s Tobi White. He said it while eating his lunch. He has a short blond hair with a pair of eyeglasses in his eyes. His height is not tall but he’s not short too, and he’s cute.
“Are you serious? That’s great! We don’t have anymore problem about the venue. So, where in the world is it located?” asked Keith Hijiri, his hair is dirty blond. He’s a half-American half-Japanese because her mother is American and her father is Japanese.
“Just a one hour drive from OBHS.” Tobi said. It means Ocean Blue High School; it is the name of our famous school. “She let us borrowed it but there’s a condition.”
“So what is it?” asked Noemi Simpson. “What’s the condition?” She has a long straight blue hair that reach in her middle back. She dyed it. Her original hair color is, well, I don’t know since from the start, it’s blue. She likes blue. She’s American.
“Well, since she just bought it last week, she let us use it but we have to clean it before and after the party. That’s the payment for using it.” Tobi look at us. “Is it okay?”
“Are you kidding? It is super duper okay! It’s just a cleaning anyway, right?” Annie Simpson exclaimed. She has a long pink wavy hair that reaches her middle back too. She’s Noemi’s cousin. Her father and Noemi’s are siblings. And since they’re best friends, she dyed her hair too. Don’t ask me the original color, please?
“There’s no way I’m going to clean a mansion!” Aimee Sue Lewis exclaimed. Her straight short hair just reaches her shoulder except for a long curly strand in both sides. Her hair color is dark green.
“Okay then, you’re not invited Sue!” Coco Hijiri said while looking at Sue. Coco is Keith’s twin brother. Don’t have to tell you their features because they have the same except for their eyes. Coco’s eyes are round like his Mother’s but Keith’s is not. He inherited his Father’s eyes. Coco and Sue are best friends and now, they’re dating. You can possibly fall in love with your best friend, right? Did I tell you already that almost all my friends dating each other? Keith’s dating Noemi while Tobi’s dating Annie. And there’s my best friend Holy dating my ex-boyfriend’s best friend, Louie Carlo La Pierre. Long name, isn’t it? He’s actually half-French half-American. His hair is blond and he’s like a prince charming, his eye color is blue.
“O-okay, I will help preparing the venue. Just let me join the party!” Sue said.
“That’s right! So I’m just going to inform the others.” Coco exclaimed while starting to march going out of the cafeteria.
“Wait, Cocoa! Do you think Nathan and Louie will join us?” Keith asked his twin. I just look at them pretending to eat my lunch. Don’t laugh at his name because I laughed at my heart’s content when I heard his real name too. Cocoa. Seriously, Keith’s name is so far from Cocoa. Their parent’s wanted that name, so let it be.
“Let’s see! Do you want to bet?” Coco asked.
“I bet 100 dollars, they will join the party!” The girl with besides me immediately said with a visible money sign on her eyes. All their face fell down, except me, I know her very well, she’s my best friend after all, and she likes money. She has a short raven hair that reaches below her ears. She’s a pure Chinese but her accent is American since she was born in America. Her name is Holy Chan. Weird, right? Chinese names is far from Holy, it’s English. Her parent’s named her Holy since she was born in a holy day. That’s what she told me when I asked her.
“Well, 100 dollar then, I bet they are not joining the party, knowing Nathan’s attitude.” Moises Roberts said with confidence. He has the same hair color as Sue because they’re cousins and his hair is semi bald. Why Moises? Her parent’s a fan of the bible names.
“Alright, ask them now Coco!” Holy said while giving Coco a glare.
Minutes passed and I saw Coco’s back.
“So what do they said? Are they coming?” Noemi asked. Coco didn’t answer.
“What’s they said Coco?” Moises asked nervously.
“I’m sorry Moises, Louie said they’re coming.”Coco said. On the other side, while I am drinking my coke, I almost spit it out while hearing that my ex-boyfriend will be coming to the party, Yup, the famous Nathaniel Dashwood of Ocean Blue is my ex and Louie is his best friend.
“What? Oh no!” Moises cried. Goodbye 100 dollar.
“Are you okay, Miami?” Tobi asked me worriedly. Of course that’s not my name. He just wanted to call me that since my name sounds like it but actually it’s Micah Ella. Yup, I know it’s far from Miami, but Mia is a Spanish word means mine and my name starts with Mi. I guess that’s an endearment of him for me. MiaMi.
I have four different bloods running through my veins. My father is half-Spanish half-Filipino while my mother is a half-Chinese half-American.
I rub my throat and said, “Yeah, I’m fine. Hey guys, do you mind if I don’t come?”
“Why?” Annie asked me.
“Well, you see, my parents are having a trip to Ponferrada to visit our grandparents the day we will celebrate the Halloween party and I’m just the only one who will baby-sit my brother.” I told them.
“Oh well, if you’re not coming, maybe they will cancel what they said that they’re coming with us.” Coco said. Holy give Coco a death glare, I know she won’t let her money to become stone.
Bam! Holy stamp him in the head. Coco rubs his head and uttered ouch. She look at me, I knew that she knew the reason why I am not coming, and it’s not because of my parent’s stupid trip but it’s because of him. “What a lame excuse Micah Ella Amor Williams Martinez!” I look at her too, she’s being serious, and I knew it. She actually called me my three given names with my middle and surname. Are you kidding me? It’s my full name. The short for it is Micah Ella Amor W. Martinez. She’s my best friend after all! All my friends and my family called me Kaela or Micah Ella but not Amor.
“You can bring Yohan along at the party.” I open my mouth to complain but Holy continued. “No more buts!” She said with a finale tone in her voice, she knew I can’t say no to her.
“Alright, so let’s just meet up this Wednesday to shop for our decorations, costumes and foods, then, we can go there on Thursday and decorate the mansion. On Friday morning, we can prepare ourselves and we can have the party on Friday night!” Tobi exclaimed. Almost all of them cheers except for a certain brunette who thinks that it’s a torture for her to attend the said event because of a certain someone whom she don’t want to see will join the party. She cannot blame them after all, because that certain someone is still part of the gang.
