- prologue -

"Ross Lynch to the office."

Ross trudged his feet towards his boss's office. He knocked and a faint 'come in' was heard, and so he opened the door and stepped in.

"Have a seat," his manager said and Ross sat down in the black chair opposite him.

"Now, Ross. I know you're friends with Laura Marano, famous actress and singer. And since our company is lagging behind 'Tiger Beat' and we used to be way ahead of them, I want you to take secret pictures of her." he said. "Laura is one of the hottest females in the entertainment industry and I think we would sell a lot of copies if Laura was featured in the headlines with never-seen-before pictures. Are you up for it?"

Ross hesitated. He had been friends with Laura since they were two. You could say that they were seamless, inseparable. And he knew one thing, Laura hated Ross's job being a paparazzi, taking pictures of celebrities. She thought it was invading the celebrities' privacy and it was a disrespectful act. If Laura knew Ross was going to take photos of her private life, would they be friends anymore?

"I know you don't want to, but I promise you, I'll give you bonus." the manager said.

Bonus sounded tempting, since Ross was lacking money. but Laura...

"Okay, fine. But if Laura and I's friendship break, it's all your fault." Ross finally decided.

The manager nodded and shooed him out of his office.
