Thunderstorm

Rainbow Dash and the other pegasus ponies were preparing the clouds in the sky for another rainy day. As soon as everypony was done doing their work, Rainbow Dash took a deep breath as she flew down from the sky.

She sat on the grass, staring the grey, heavy clouds.

"It's going to be a rainy day, isn't it?"

Rainbow Dash turned around and saw her Purple, alicorn princess friend standing next to her, giving her the look of disappointment.

"Yeah... " Rainbow Dash said, stretching her soar wings and legs.

"Awwe, Spike and I were planning to take a walk, I guess I'll have to cancel that."

"Oh, I'm sorry... it's my job to make the weather suck.."

Twilight felt a rain drop on her nose and sighed. "No, don't worry about it, I can postpone that to another day. Plus, you're just doing what you need to do. Anyways, we need to go indoors really soon, it's going to rain any minute now."

"Right.."

Twilight walks away and looks back at the blue pegasus. "See you later!"

"Bye, Twilight!" Rainbow said, waving at her.

Rainbow Dash stayed outside, watching the thunderstorm coming to her direction. Soon, she heard a quiet thunder. 'I better get inside.' She thought. It wasn't safe for her to fly, so she walked instead. As she was walking, she saw her best friend running. Rainbow Dash ran up to the orange pony.

Applejack noticed that somepony was running with her. She looked to her left and saw the rainbow maned pegasus.

"Howdy, Rainbow!" Applejack says, slowing down.

"Hey, AJ! What's the rush?"

"Oh, nothin' I'm just trying hurry and get to the barn, I heard there's going to be a thunderstorm."

"Oh yeah."

"So what are you up to?"

"Uh.. nothing, really... I just finished preparing for the storm today. Nothing other than that."

"Oh, well you're always welcome to stay at the barn with me, it's not safe to fly all the way up there in the clouds. Plus, you're probably exhausted from workin' all morning."

"Sure, thanks!"

"No problem, sugarcube."

Soon, the two mares arrived at the barn just in time. Right after they entered the barn, the rain got heavier.

"How long is the weather gonna be like this?" Applejack asked

"Just for the rest of today, including the night."

"Oh darn, you won't be able to return home. I guess you'll have to stay here for the night."

"No, you don't have to. I can try to fly safely."

"Rainbow, you know it's dangerous, you can get seriously injured if you risk yourself to do that."

"Alright, I'll stay."

Rainbow Dash gave Applejack a warm smile, showing her that she's thankful. She honestly wanted to go home, she never really cared about sleepovers. She knew how much Applejack can worry and she didn't want to leave her like that. Plus, Applejack is a pretty stubborn pony so Rainbow Dash would be stuck here anyway.

Applejack walk to the kitchen and grabbed a cup of apple cider for her guest. She felt like Rainbow Dash should relax, even though she didn't know how it's like to work up in the clouds. She handed the cup to her friend.

Rainbow Dash smiled widely as she grabbed the cup. She smells the fresh, ice cold apple flavored cider. "Thank you" she said, before taking a sip of the cider.

Applejack nodded watching the mare drink. Soon, Rainbow Dash finished.

"That was awesome! I swear, you make one of the best ciders in Equestria!"

"Aww geez, thanks." Applejack gave her a small, warm smile.

Rainbow Dash yawned as she rubbed her eyes. Applejack assumed that she was already getting tierd.

"If you're gettin' tierd, you can sleep..." Applejack stopped for a moment, she didn't even think of where Rainbow Dash will sleep.

"You... can... sleep on my bed."

Rainbow blushed slightly, thinking that her friend is allowing her to sleep next to her.

"And I'll just sleep on the couch!" Applejack felt embarrassed, thinking about how wrong that sounded like.

"Are you sure? I mean, I don't want to make it seem like I'm kicking you out of your own bed. I can sleep on the couch instead."

"Nah, don't worry about me, I'll be just fine. Just as long as you can sleep comfortably tonight, especially you've been out there workin' all day. But thank you for your consideration."

"Alright, if you say so."

Applejack lead Rainbow Dash to her bedroom. "Here you go, this room is all yours tonight."

"Thank you."

Rainbow Dash gets on top of the bed, feeling much more relaxed. Applejack puts the covers over her, making sure that she was comfortable.

"Alright, sugarcube. Goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow mornin'."

"Goodnight." Rainbow Dash said, closing her eyes.

Even though the thunderstorm was making so much noise, Rainbow Dash could sleep peacefully, nothing could disturb her from her rest.

Applejack walked out of the bedroom, gently closing the door shut. She walked to the living room, then rested herself on the couch. The couch wasn't as comfortable as her bed, but she felt like it was more important that Rainbow Dash gets a good rest. She took off her hat and placed it on the ground. She closed her eyes.

"Applejack? Whatcha doin' on the couch?"

Applejack opened her eyes and saw her little sister standing afront of her.

"I'm just sleepin' here for tonight, I have a guest borrowing my bed."

"A guest? Who?"

"You'll see tomorrow, but you should start gettin' ready for bed, you shouldn't be stayin' up this late."

"Okay... goodnight!"

"Goodnight, Applebloom." Applejack said, giving her sister a quick kiss on the forehead.

Applejack tried to ignore all the sounds of the storm and closes her eyes. Soon, she fell asleep.
