Chapter 4-You Slut

Somehow I ended up in the girl's bathroom. It was scented with lilies, and large mirrors framed the walls. I locked myself in one of the laboratory and cried. Tears flooded down and drifted down to my shirt, I didn't believe what I just said, or what Moon just said. Thinking about this again made me cry harder. Only until after fifteen minutes, I rolled toilet paper and blew my nose and stepped out.

What I saw in the mirror didn't look at me: my eyes were all red and puffy, hair tangling and a messy strand swept across my cheeks. The usual glow was gone, instead I looked as pale as a ghost. I flushed my face with water and tried to blink away the remaining tears.

Suddenly, the door gave a low creak and Spencer stepped in--aka the most popular girl in the school. I jumped at her sudden appearance as she held up her makeup bag to fix her makeup. Spencer noticed me then stared at me with disgust, then she snorted: "Crying, baby?"

"Stop it!" I used my hands to shield my face as Spencer laughed again: "Crying, what's wrong?" She remarked rudely in a sing song voice.

My gaze travelled to Spencer tried to step past her, but she spread out her arms and blocked my way, her face doing the speech, filled with a mocking expression: "Going somewhere, ugly bitch?"

I flinched at the comment and my fingers felt my skin, am I really ugly? I thought to myself. Yeah, you probably are. I answered my own question. As I looked up, Spencer's chocolate rich eyes and perfect features filled with mockery laughed silently at me. So fake, but so perfect. Then the bell gave a few whiz of sound, Spencer looked back at my imperfect eyes, nose, mouth and skin, she wrinkled her nose of disgust: "I have no idea why you have a friend like Moon or Courtney, they're so pretty but you ? Ha! So pathetic. Bitch, I'm going to let you go for the sake of the bell," she then closed up on me, so close I could feel the danger in every spec of her eyes, "wait you at swimming." Then Spencer turned on her heel, and left.

The word "swimming" came out of Spencer's mouth so stiffly and uncomfortable... did Moon tell her? No, I doubt. As I was thinking, panic was rising up on me as my knees collapsed to the stone cold floor. Tears started streaming down once again. Pathetic bitch. That's me. I enclosed myself on Spencer's words of negativity and wrapped my arms around my body tightly. I knew that swimming would be a pain anyway, but now that Moon is no longer at my side, it will be a thousand times harder. I sighed quietly and rewashed my face: even coloured brunette hair, although with no pretty golden ends like Courtney's.. my dull hazel eyes filled with hatred-- that can't be expressed because how weak I was.

I knew I couldn't stay here for longer because of the break. A bunch of popular slut girls will come rushing in to fix their makeup and hair, Spencer is a unusual today, coming early. I decided to make a run to my locker.

The gold, italic metal pressed into my skin as I leant against it. Moon's was right beside me: a rose-gold locker instead of just gold. I sighed harder at her popularity and her perfection as I swan my swimming bag over my shoulder and slipped on some flip-flops. Oh, how I miss the salty water instead, I could breath without actually breathing in the sea, since I'm a quarter Mer. The sea supplies me with rich oxygen that I don't even need to try to breath in the water.

A moment later, Moon came bouncing towards her locker with Courtney. She barely talks to me, or like me now, I thought with a pang of jealousy. Then they saw me, and immediately calmed down, ignoring me. Especially Moon, she refused to meet my eyes. "Hi, Allison." Courtney said to me coldly, looking at me intently, then her expression suddenly changed, "what happened to you?"

I shook my head blankly, and then turned towards the water fountain in the middle of the gigantic hall, but Courtney caught up to me quickly, Moon lagging behind. "You okay?"

I stiffened, then turned to Courtney, "how can you be so nice to me?"

Courtney blinked, "So I can't be?" She smiled sarcastically but with warmth, gently she laid down something in my hands, "take it."

"What is it?" I asked curiously.

Courtney opened her mouth and closed it again, "Just... take it with you... wherever you go. By the way, it's a me--"

"Court!" Moon interrupted, her face filled with frustration, "what are you doing with her?" With it she strode towards us, her faint water lily scent filling the space. She shot Courtney a what-are-you-doing-with-her look, then Courtney's face turned to stone-cold.

"I am mental. God knows why or what I'm doing here with Allison," she said sternly, but her green eyes were dull, no flame or whatsoever inside. Only Moon's eyes filled with relieve, she turned to me: "You will know, that tonight Courtney is sleeping in our dorm," she smiled gracefully at Courtney, "and you will be on the single bed, far across the other side. We've decided." Moon then strolled away on her heels, with Courtney. Courtney glanced over her shoulder to look at me one more time, then caught up with Moon.

I stood there stiffly for a few moments, then adjusted my swimming bag, but bumped in with Spencer. I immediately flinched and tried to make myself smaller: "Sorry Spence..." I muttered to her, fear building up inside me.

"Sorry Spence? Since when do you call me as a nickname?" She closed up on me one more time, then she whispered dreadfully into my ear, "your dead, bitch." The she walked off.

Oh right, it's swimming. I sighed, then ran to the pool arena.
