The 6 Roses

In the middle of our backyard there sat a garden. It wasn't like any other garden. This garden was filled with roses.

My mom was the one who grew these roses. She always told me that angels lived in her garden of roses but I always thought she was making it up. My mom was a good Christian women and also a very good mother,

I loved my mom very well. Everyone knew her in town. Everyone knew her name wherever she went sometimes it got really annoying but I just learned to ignore it.

We were riding in the car to go get something to eat with my mom's boyfriend, Jake. We arrived at " Miss Mae's Barbeque." We got out of our white toyota and walked into the restaurant and there sat Jake.

"Hello honey!" mom said in excitement.

She is already calling him "honey" but I just call him Jake for my sake.

"Hi, how is my beautiful lady!" Jake said like he's hiding something but I chose to ignore it.

I just don't get why they don't just call each other by their first names!

" Hey Jim Bob" Jake said. I give him a dirty look.

Jake is always giving me nicknames that are so stupid I don't know why he does it.

I never did like Jake. When I first met him I puked on him because I knew he would replace my dad. My father died in a car accident when i was 10.

We were about to sit down so I told my mom to sit by me but no, she sat by Jake! The waitress came and we ordered our food.

" How have you been babe? " Jake said.

I don't know why he asked that any way they haven't seen each other in 1 day. Get over yourself Jake!

Our food came and we all stayed quiet until Jake broke the silence.

" So, Jane, isn't it about time to tell Carly the big news?" Jake said.

" Umm.. yes!" mom said like she wasn't sure of something.

"what did you want to tell me?" I said scared.

" We are getting married!" Jake said.

I choked on my pork sandwich and my eyes became as big as golf balls. Before I died I stood up from my seat and went over to Jake.

" Thanks..... a lot!" I said shouting. Everyone looked at me. Before n I went to cry I pulled my hand back and slapped him in the face.
