Jamie's POV
The bell rings signaling our lunch period. I see people rushing to the cafeteria but stopping infront of me just to say hi. Me being me, I smiled back even though most of them were fake.
"Jamie!" I heard someone screamed from behind me. I turned around and saw my bestfriend Samantha walking towards me with a smile.
Samatha was your typical highschool cheerleader. She had blonde hair tied in a high ponytail. She was wearing our school's jersey which she said was "a sign of her school spirit". She was also wearing a skirt that ended three inches above the knee, leggings and of course her favorite pink converse.
"Sammy!" I said happily trying to cover up the negative feelings I have for seeing her. I was honestly trying to hide from her but she still saw me.
"Where have you been Jammie?" she said while guiding me into the cafeteria into our usual table or what people say the popular's table.
"Well Mr. Xanders was all up in my face for not being able to pass the assignment" I said with a roll of my eyes, switching to the personality the people here expect me to have.
After the usual topics: gossip, who's dating who and the worst of them all, who has the worst outfit of the day.
This is how my life is, being the rich girl. After school, I went straight to our car waiting for me in the parking lot. As usual it was my chauffer who fetched me. When I got home, I quickly rushed up to my room. It was friday, my parents were out of the house, my brother hasn't come home and there were no homework so i just threw my bag on the floor and flopped down on my bed staring at the ceiling.
I kept thinking about how my life turned out. How fake I became, how I became friends with the very people I despised in movies and life in general. But, i really have no choice. The moment I stepped into that high school, the people decided that I be in the in-crowd. And I never really made an effort to change life there cause I know if I did try, it would only cause drama and i was never drama's biggest fan.
"Will my life ever change?" i muttered then slowly fell asleep.
I woke up to a loud barking sound. "Damn! stupid dog!". I got up while rubbing my eyes. I looked at my phone to see the time. It was already 5:30 pm.
I noticed I had one text message. I was expecting something like an invitation to another party that I didn't want to go to or a jock asking me out again. But instead I saw a text from mom saying "Hi sweetie! Wait for me and your dad tonight at around 7. You and your brother should wear something formal. We're going to a restaurant to talk about something important. And please force your brother to were a tux. See you later darling! I love you!"
"Dad?" I felt so happy knowing dad had arrived from his bussiness trip. I immediately texted my brother and then quickly got up and ran to the bathroom. I hurriedly took a cold shower. Then I wrapped a towel around my body and went straight to my huge closet.
"Time to get to work!!". I looked through my closet and saw so many neon pink dresses. I hate pink but unfortunetly my mom, who does all of the shopping, loves it. I'm okay with baby pink but no! My mom likes dark shades of pink.
"Atlast!" I said with satisfaction. I found my royal blue dress in one of the closets. I put it on and quickly brushed my hair. I grabbed my 3-inch heels knowing that my mom would get furious if I wore my sneakers again. And to finish my look, I applied light mascara and lipstick.
