The outer ring of the stargate slowly slid round.
“Chevron seven encoded,” the scientist running the program gave the all clear.
A pool-like surface slid across the opening and a massive flare of blue surged from the gate as the wormhole connected.
Down in the gate room SG-1 were getting ready to go through.
Vala flicked her black hair over her shoulder and gave Daniel a cheeky smile. “Remind me again why we have to sit through four hours of Jaffa politics? I mean, I know it's for Teal'c but even still...”
Daniel gave her a warning look, “We're going to try and reinforce Teal'c's claims about the Ori, we have first hand experience. They might change their minds when they hear what we know.”
Vala put on a more serious face. “I thought the majority of the Jaffa High Council didn't like us, I mean the Tau'ri, very much?”
Daniel looked concerened, “they don't. Not really. Despite everything we did to help free them from the Goa'uld. You'd think they'd be a bit more grateful.”
“Well, at least Teal'c and Bra'tac like us. No matter how much Teal'c scowls.” Vala Grinned.
Daniel gave a sarcastic laugh.
Sam walked towards them, slinging her gun over her shoulder, “When you two have finished talking, do you think we could finally go?”
Colonel Mitchell walked forwards. “Teal'c's gonna be wondering where we are.”
“Well what are we waiting for?” Vala skipped up the ramp and looked back at the team. “Come on then!”
Sam met Mitchell's gaze and gave an exasperated sigh.
The trudged up the ramp and stepped into the rippling blue pool. They could feel themselves being distorted and stretched through the wormhole.
They stepped out the other side.
