He didn't know how long he was out there for. Could've quite possibly been the whole night but he didn't care. It wasn't like he was going to get some sleep anyway so he didn't mind waiting outside the ward to hear from a nurse or a doctor to see if he was okay. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, a female doctor walked out, spotting Eren.

"How is he?" Eren asked, growing impatient and anxious to see him.

"He should be okay. We managed to take the bullet out before it infected his blood. He just needs to rest his leg for a day or so, but depending on what the commander says, I'm not sure how long he's allowed in there."

Eren nodded as he listened, biting down on his lower lip, hoping he'd be allowed to rest. "Can I see him?" He asked, almost desperately.

"Yes. Just don't wake him up if he's asleep." Nodding, he walked in, highly doubting that someone like him was asleep. And he was right.

Before him, was lying a small raventette, his leg bandaged up and laying on top of the duvet. His eyes were tiredly staring at the ceiling, his expression as monotonous as it usually was. It was almost as if he was dead to the world, the fatigue in his eyes being because of how tired he was of all of this.

He didn't notice the brunette walking into the ward until he heard a soft voice.

"Hey...I came to see if you were okay." Eren said as he stood beside Levi's bedside in an awkward yet concerned manner.

Turning his head to the side, he faced the taller male, surprised to see the worry in his eyes. Was it truly for him? Or was it perhaps the worry that Levi would die and be useless.

"Why?" He asked bluntly, his guard still very high up.

Eren locked eyes with Levi's, taken slightly aback by his question but what else was he to expect?

"Why? Because I'm worried about you." He admitted. "I couldn't go to sleep without knowing if you okay."

Eyes widening, he asked, "you mean you stayed up and lost sleep just to see if I was okay? You could get killed if you fall asleep on the battlefield because you wanted to see if the /enemy/ was okay. Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Levi scolded, not being able to believe how foolish this boy was as a soldier, for those things to not even cross his mind.

"No, but perhaps me dying wouldn't be the worst thing.." He mumbled the last part under his breath before sighing, looking down. "And I don't care if you're the enemy. You're still a human being. I don't know if you're a good one or a bad one, but the fact that you are loyal enough to your comrades not to expose anything, says a lot." Eren explained, looking back up at him.

Levi swallowed thickly, not used to this at all. What was he saying? What if someone heard? This wasn't a safe place to be speaking like that.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" Levi said as stared back up at the ceiling.

"I know that more than anyone." Eren said with a small chuckle.

This boy. He seemed intriguing, more intriguing than anybody Levi had met. It definitely wouldn't hurt to get to know him more.

"Could...do you think you could do me a favour?" Levi asked as he looked down, slightly twiddling with his thumbs.

Eren nodded. "Yes. Of course. What is it?" Eren asked, wanting to help this man as much as possible.

"Do you think you could help me back to your barrack? I don't want to stay here. I'll rest better in there..." He stated. That wasn't true. He didn't know if he'd sleep better in there or not but he wanted to talk to Eren in a place where someone wouldn't be listening into their conversation.

"Okay..just don't strain yourself okay?" Eren said as Levi nodded, sitting up weakly and placing his good leg out of the bed, wincing as he tried to do the same with the other. Seeing this, Eren decided it would be best if he just carried him.

Picking him up bridal style, he carried Levi as he hooked his arms around his neck. Levi could feel his cheeks turn a light pink, wanting to bury his face into the crook of Eren's neck, but held back, knowing that Eren would just think he was strange.

Walking out of the ward, Eren looked up and down the halls to see if anyone was coming. Luckily, there wasn't so he quickly but carefully carried Levi to their Barack, opening the door with one hand before walking in, closing it with his foot.

In all honesty, Eren hated this room. It brought back many happy memories of him and Armin, which were now just painful, as if the room itself was mocking him. He carefully placed Levi onto Armin's bed, letting go of him and began to walk to the closet, his hand wrapped around the wooden handle. He was going to pull it open until he was interrupted by Levi's voice.

"Who...whose bed is this?" He hesitantly asked, not feeling greatly comfortable to be sleeping in the same bed as someone who could've been a great significance to Eren.

Swallowing thickly, he opened the cupboard. "I...a friend.." He took a deep breath before taking out his sleep wear. "B-but he won't be using it anymore."

Levi furrowed his eyebrows, frowning as he felt sympathy for the brunette. "K.I.A...?" He asked, biting down on his bottom lip.

Shaking his head, Eren took out another pair of sleepwear.

"No. Missing...I lost him whilst trying to find one from your side...I..I hoped I'd see him here but...n-no.." He closed the cupboard door. "I-I had to report Armin Arlet as M.I.A...no matter how much I hoped it wasn't true."

Eren placed his sleepwear on the bed before walking over to Levi's, handing them over to him.

"Here. You can change into these...he won't be needing them anymore..." He said sadly, biting down on his bottom lip. Levi looked at the blue and white striped clothes before shaking his head.

"No...I'll get blood and dirt all over them. I'm sure that when your friend comes back, he wouldn't want to be greeted with dirty pyjamas. Nobody does." Levi said, as if it were obvious, sighing, handing them back over to Eren.

Eren took the clothing into his hand, taking a deep breath before releasing a small chuckle of disbelief, not being able to believe he was going to replace such a friend this easily. He was thankful for the hope that Levi had given to him, not being able to help but smile a little to himself.

"You're right. How silly of me.." He said, his voice barely above a whisper before putting the clothes back where they were found.

Levi nodded with a small hum of agreement, watching the brunette pick up his own night wear.

"I'm just going to get changed, okay?" Eren warned as Levi nodded. "Okay.." He said, shifting a little trying to turn around, watching the brunette turn around himself, exposing the tan, smooth skin of his back. Before Levi saw anything else, his back was turned to the brunette, his curiosity towards the boy growing by the second.
