I woke up curled into Marcus's side, his arm wrapped securely around my waist as if not wanting to let me go.
I tried to get up but Marcus's grip was too tight. I tried even harder to get up but he brought me back into him.
"Not yet babe.Stay here, please."
I curled back into him and felt the warmth of his breath and the comfort of his arm around me, holding me. After about five minutes I got up because I needed to pee. Marcus groaned as I got up, him not wanting the moment to end. Hey! I didn't want to move but damn I really needed to pee!
When I came back Marcus was taking his shirt off and unwrapping his wound. The bullet was gone but the wound wasn't. No one expected it to be either, I mean, he was shot yesterday.
I rushed over to him and grabbed ahold of his hands.
"Let me wrap it for you." I pleaded with my eyes.
He said yes and laid back slightly, enough to where the wound was just barely stretching. I grabbed some gauze and started wrapping it. He wimpered every now and then from pain.
"Marcus, how did you manage to leave the hospital and make it into my house?"
He grinned and chuckled deeply.
"You, love, don't know when you have a window wide open in the back of your house."
He winked at me and made a suspicious grin. I still remember that grin even to this day. The thing I hate, knowing we would never last. It pains me to know he doesn't like me, or love me. I know, sounds mushy for a girl like me, but gotta admit, a girl has to fall in love sometime in her life.
"Michelle..." His eyes still show no emotion.
"Thank-"
"Shut up. If you don't have a ounce of love for me then just leave my house and never come back. I know you care, but not enough to actually care for a person, for real."
Pain showed in his eyes.
"Michelle... Look, I really need to protect you. For all I have, you are a worth full person worth saving. I love you Michelle and when I moved and thought I'd never see you again I started to hide my emotion for love so no other woman could make me fall in love with them. It was always you that kept me going. Now I just need to-"
He was cut off by my phone ringing.
It was My dads officer.
"Hello? Officer Panzer?"
"Hello sweetie... We have some bad news... Your dad may be dead..."
I dropped the phone. I felt tears run into my eyes.
It can't be happening. It will never happen. I talked to him earlier...
Marcus picked up my phone and went into the other room so he could talk to officer Panzer. I sat there and weeped. No one could ever tell me my dad was dead. He has lasted in war for over 11 years now. It's not gonna happen. My dad is smarter then that.
Marcus came in, his eyes lined with tears.
"I'm sorry Michelle."
For once, there was actual emotion in his eyes.
"But, there is a good part. He is only MIA. Missing In Action. He still has the possibility of being alive."
Even that didn't bring me happiness. I was told my father may be dead now. Nothing could make me happy for a while.
"Michelle? Please say something..."
I looked at Marcus who was now letting tears fall down his own face. It made his features show even more.
