Walking home after yet another day full of toturous events and misery. Some call it school. I find school horrid, I go for my parent's benefits. And other people find it magnificent, it depends on who you are I suppose, for beauty comes with who you are. It's only for you to wait it out like a side-liner in baseball. Or you could live it now and not wait. I've tried my hardest to become a good student, or work harder than I do. It's not possible for me. I know some people say "Anything's possible if you believe it is." I don't believe that statement, maybe that's the reason I can't do most things. I'd rather skateboard around town than go to school, or paint canvas' in my art room than even leave the house at all. People like me tend to keep to themselves, I've never had many friends I mean. I don't see the point for them, they're just going to betray you at some point so hey, save yourself the trouble and find something you love. My parents think I need friends, so they try to push their friend's kids on me. It doesn't work very well.
I'm Dalilah Judoe, I'm 16, and I'm what you would call an "Outcast" or "Silent Rebel" but I am neither. I'm just nothing to anyone anymore. Sometimes I wonder if I'm even alive. It doesn't feel like it.
"Daisy, time for dinner" I heard my grandmother say, she always calls me Daisy. I hate it, if anything I'm a black tulip.
"I already ate" I lie under my breath.
"What?" she paused, "You're eating missy. Your parents are out of town and I'm in charge of you and Devyn." Devyn's my older sister, of one year. Everyone usually pays attention to her, while I sit in the corner writing. But not with my grandmother, she always attempts to make me a precious child. It doesn't work very well, believe me.
"I'm not eating either Gran." Devyn sasses trying to catch her attention.
"Don't you start with me, go sit down at the table." She points towards the dining table.
Devyn scoffs stomping over towards the table.
"Gran, I don't want to eat. I'm not hungry right now." I say without making eye contact.
"That's just too bad dear, now get up and go sit. You have no choice"

After what seemed to be a three hour dinner, I finally got to have 'piece' and 'quiet' or close enough to it, time in my room. Well at least a few minutes, before Devyn marched in acting as if she owned the place.
"Why does everyone like you better than me?" She placed one hand on her hip, and the other closing my laptop screen.
"Excuse yourself." I say placing my laptop on my bed beside me, " I don't ask for anyone to like me. Barely anyone does. Everyone likes you, because you wear bright clothes and you stand out more." I almost shout,
"What's that suppose to mean?" She towers over me, "Are you saying I'm a pansy?"
"No," I pause.
"Then what are you saying?"
"Actually, yes. that is what I'm saying. I'm saying you're a girly girl, who everyone wants to be friends with. And who everyone loves, I'm just the popular girls sister who nobody pays attention to at school. They just call me the freak who has no friends, and doesn't try to make any. I've had enough of standing down to you, to not showing who I am, and finally for being around you. I've had enough of you thinking you're better than me, and everyone else who has something you don't."
"And what is it you have that I don't." She says calmly, ignoring all that I said before.
"Confidence,"
"I have more confidence than you'll ever have." She crosses her arms.
"No, you really don't. You have short skirts, shorts, high heels, tight jeans, preppy shirts, and make-up. That's about as close as you'll ever get to having confidence. You use those tools against everyone else to make yourself feel better, you go out with a different guy every two weeks to make yourself feel better. And finally, you make me feel like I don't belong in this family, to make yourself feel better. Enough said? I think so, get out of my room. And don't come back in," I slam the door after pushing her out.
"You'll regret talking to me like this! Be sure of that! Mom and dad will love to hear the stuff I have to tell them when they get back." She yells from the other side of my door.
"No I won't," I mumble to myself before putting a pair of ear buds into my ears.
***
"Dalilah, it's time to get up." Devyn pounds on my door attempting to wake me up, not knowing I was already awake.
"ugh ok." I reply,
"Listen Daisy," She added walking into my room.
"What did I tell you, get out." I inturrupted her.
"No,"
"Gran! Devyn won't get out of my room." I yell keeping eye contact with her.
"Devyn Marie! Stop bothering your sister right now, and come finish breakfast!"
"Screw you," She says walking out of my room.
"No thanks," I slam my door.
"Dalilah, hurry up so you can come eat breakfast!" Gran said from the bottom of the stairs.
"I'll just grab something on the way to school," I slide a T-shirt over my head.
"Alright just make sure you eat something!"
"Okay Gran!," I say walking out of my room and down the stairs.
"I'll see you later, I'm headed off." I wave to Gran.
"Why so early? You still have 30 minutes." She asked.
"I have a few things I have to do, can I have the keys to the ford?"
As she tossed me the keys, Devyn couldn't stop glaring. Devyn always got to drive the ford to school, but I mean. I don't see why she would want to drive an old beat up truck to school. I figured it wouldn't go with her 'style' so to speak.

There was one class where I felt welcome, that's only because it's full of people just like me. Creative writing class is filled with shy, 'outcasts' and none of us really talk much, we just kinda write. Other than that, I never have liked school, and I never will. School is a place where people get talked about even though they didn't do anything to begin with. They could just wear their hair different one day and people will stop liking them. It's ridiculous.
