He still had her

He seemed happy when he heard that he would soon be a father. It was totally a different feeling for him. He was sensing new changes inside him. He wanted to make every moment special for her. He knew that he couldn't reduce her pain but could at least make it easier for her. He had already started imagining what he would do when the baby would come into life.
He was waiting for the moment to come soon but he heard her calling from behind. Her voice was weak and low. He turned around and his gaze first met her face which was pale. Tears were not leaving her wide open eyes which were screaming loudly that she was in pain. His eyes moved down and he froze looking at the blood stains all over her lower abdomen. His heartbeat rose, looking at her condition. All his happiness died with his baby.
Tears rolled out of his eyes and he ran to her when he realised that she would fall any moment. He held her tight and engulfed her into his arms to protect her from falling, to tell her that he was still with her, to tell her that he still loved her, to tell her that he would never leave her and was always with her. He wiped her tears and smiled. The smile was gloomy but still it did not leave his lips as his baby was gone but he still had her.
