~next day~
Kacee's POV~
I woke up and did the same thing as yesterday. Showered and put clothes on. Today it was a White and black Startrek shirt with some shorts and black Vans. I was about to drive ti school when I noticed Kayleigh and Jayden walking out of their door. I knew I woukd regret my next decision but asked anyway.
"Hey! Yall wanna ride to school." Kayleigh took only a few seconds to nod while Jayden thought for a second and agreed with her. They climbed in with Kay-Leigh in the passenger sear and Jayden in the back, and, of course, her seat position didnt go down without a fight. She, obviously, won that argumet.
I sang quietly along to one of my favorite songs, Titanium. It was an inspirational song.
Soon enough, we arrived to school. I walked into class. Believe me, this was going to be a day.
First and second period went by pretty smoothly. I had Jayden in both of those classes and, soon, found him to be in my third and fourth also. Heres where the query happened. Fourth lunch.
Yes Jayden had a right to sit with me, but it was those she devils and mansluts that didnt.
"Hey Jay-boo!" Sarah, the head cheerleader, squealed asthough it was a surpirse to his existence. As she sat by him, she ran a hand through his hair as though she was trying to suduce him.
"Hi sarah," he cleared his throat.
"Why dont you come sit with us, instead of this loser," she spat the words when she gestured towards me. I instantly started to think of all the possible things I could have done to her. Not a single thing crossed my mind. I was dumbfounded, baffuled, and just looked down in shame.
"Shes not a loser. Kay-Leigh said she was pretty cool once you got past her shy-ness." That shocked me even more. He was sticking up for me. Jayden. The one who could be a popular. The one I shared every class with. The one who had the dreamiest eyes. The one whose smile could cause the blind to see, deaf to her and the dumb to speak.
"Hahahaha not a loser? Shes a band geek. I mean look at that shirt. Really?! That's a fashion suicide right there. Also who like Startrek? Its so stupid."
"Hey! I happen to be in band and I love Startrek. Right down to the very last episode." His eyes didnt look so calm, friendly or open anymore. I had the sudden urge to comfort him and calm him. I ignored it and looked back at my food and moved it around awkwardly.
"Did I say stupid? I ment its the awesomest trilogy ever......I love when they take over that thing durin that part of the move." I sighed and shook my head.
"Sarah just go. I want to eat with Kacee. Go now."
"Fine you're not that good looking anyways." She stormed off. I felt like applauding Jayden. He had just rejected the prettiest and the only person I knew who could be loved and hated the most in the school.
I sat there wide eyed, and my mouth was hung wide open.
"What?" Jayden looked at me then took a sip of his water. I just sook my head. To be honest, I was baffeled. I couldnt find a single word to say. I felt as though I should thank him, but then I realized due to him I'm now on her hot list off people to cut there heads off.
I could imagine her, sitting on her thrown, surrounded by jocks dressed as
the Queen of Hearts, and saying "Off with her head" as the sharp blade slid down the guillotine.
The rest of the day went by seamlessly.
