PROLOGUE~Niall POV.~

"c'mon Niall, it's hot, lets get a drink."

Ryan Porters whined to me, as he leaned against the broken down green pick up truck that sat in my garage, with the top popped up.

I was hunched over, attaching in one of the wires that had been taken out of the car, for unknown reasons.

thinking I might be finished, I sat up resting my weight on my hands which were rested on the side of the car. I wiped some of the sweat on my forehead with the back of my hand, as the sun beat down on the back of my neck.

I gave Ryan a nod, and he ran into the house without looking back at me. I chuckled slightly watching him go.

Ryan is my bestfriend. we met in 7th grade, and being seniors now at Bennighton High, that seamed like such a long time ago. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes, while I held bright blue ones and blonde hair. totally different from each other but we were so close people mistakened us as brothers.

he came back in with two cokes, I stripped my gloves from my hands, and took one drinking it down eagerly, while Ryan did the same.

"when can we get this beauty running?" he asked.

"ehh give it a month or so."

little did I know my life would soon take the most unexpected turn by then.

BEEEEP. the loud beep from my alarm clock sounded from my dresser. I lifted my arm and aimlessly patted around eventually hitting the snooze button.

I woke up ten minutes later throwing on a white t-shirt, black jeans, and white converse. I walked into the bathroom, splashed some water over my face, hurriedly brushed my teeth, and styled my hair into it's usual quiff. I stared at my reflection in the mirror.

this is it, I told myself. First day of senior year. last year to win the football championships. last year with my girlfriend, chelsey barrio. last year of just barely passing science. last year with Ryan untill college. last year to get a music scholarship at Juliard. last year to be carefree. last year to find out who i am and what I'm missing. make it the best.

after my pep talk, I ran downstairs grabbing my bag and throwing my lettermans jacket over my shoulder. I shoved a piece of toast in my mouth before yelling, "bye mum!" in a muffled voice, and ran out of the house. I shut the door, instantly feeling the chill September breeze hit my cheek. I heard Ryan call my name from the bus stop at the corner of the street.

we arrived at school, greeting a few of our buddies on the way inside. I was laughing with the team for a few minutes untill I heard my name. I turned around expecting Ryan.

that's when I saw her....

she kinda stood out from the others.

The way her long, curly brown hair fell carelessly in a pony tail down her back. She wore little makeup, her long eyelashes perfectly framing her beautiful brown eyes. her long face, framing her tall figure, and she held her binder closely to her chest. she adjusted the right strap of her bag, and she laughed with her friends. woah.
that smile, is what caught my eye. it could lighten anyone's day in a second. she was beautiful. and it was like she didn't even try..

"earth to Niall." I heard Ryan's voice say and I snapped back to focus.

"huh?"

"chelesys calling you.."

he pointed to a girl with familiar short blonde hair just past her ears. heavy make up covered her face, and she wore a bright pink dress, to celebrate the first day.
