Namjoon | Goodbyes

It's already Y/N and Namjoon's 3rd Anniversary. Y/N isn't expecting too much from this day because she and Namjoon had a fight these past few weeks. Namjoon's being irritable and hot headed since last Monday.

Y/N prepared something special even if she's not in good terms with Namjoon at the moment. She thought that she has to make the first move and end their nonsense fight.

"Y/N, you know that Namjoon's just stressed with his studies. Yeah, even smart people struggle with their studies too." She tried to convince herself with that reason.

Namjoon phoned her to meet him at the park just few meters away from Y/N's house.

Namjoon was sitting on the swing when Y/N arrived.

"Happy 3rd Anniversary babe! I know we are not in good terms right now." Y/N's voice broke. "But I hope we'll get over it. I love you." Y/N said while beaming widely to hide the pain she's feeling, handing her gift to Namjoon.

Namjoon didn't bother to look at Y/N either to her gift.

"I'm sorry Y/N, I can't accept that. I feel like I'm not worthy of your love, I mean, I've been a bad boyfriend. I'm breaking up with you." Namjoon said with emotionless eyes.
He thought that his excuse is enough for Y/N to let go of him and their relationship.

Y/N felt numb after hearing those words from him.

"Y-you're joking right? I mean all those fights we had these past few weeks are just because of our childish acts."
Y/N tried to calm herself after saying those words to him.

"No, please Y/N. This is the truth, I'm ending our relationship." Namjoon harshly said, thinking that it would really affect her.

'This is the best for us. It's better this way' Namjoon thought.

As he looked at Y/N 's gentle face, tears started to flow from her eyes.

Namjoon's face soften up a bit but then he mentally shook his head.

"Please stop crying it doesn't suit you." Namjoon said giving her a handkerchief.

Y/N, who was startled by his words stopped crying.
"Funny how things really go by. You always say that to me when you see me crying for nonsense reasons.
Now you are the reason why I'm crying."

As Y/N take his handkerchief from him she noticed his silver ring placed on his ring finger.

It broke Y/N's feelings more, knowing that he is already with someone he truly loves.

"So this is really a goodbye then. Sorry for making this hard for you." Y/N said while smiling bitterly then looked away avoiding the sight of his ring.

"I'm going." Namjoon said then started to walk away from her.

"I'm definitely gonna get you back" Namjoon mumbled under his breath while walking away, away from Y/N.

"Y/N, yah! Stop crying. You're making my pillows wet. Why don't you cry over Namjoon oppa's handkerchief?" Jinyang said to her big sis, Y/N.

Y/N gave her a death glare then walked out the room. Taking her sister's advice she took Namjoon's handkerchief from her drawer.

She heard a clank after taking it out from the drawer, something fell.

Y/N nervously picked it from the floor. After recognizing it, she burst into tears.

It's the same ring as Namjoon's.

"I hate you Namjoon, why are doing this to me? You're also making it hard for me to move on."

'What is the meaning of this? You're making me so confused.'
