[Blackstar's POV]

"...Good."

I answered to his question, making a smile appear on his face. "So I heard."

"...I don't have time to talk to you." I said with gritted teeth. "I have to look for her."

"What, you lost her in a crowd like this ?" Kid said with a frown. "Yeesh."

"Shut up." I glared. "You know what, I get the message. No one in this damn family sees me as a prince. It's why I was sent down to be that bitch's knight, right ?!" I turned my head, and started walking. "Go back to your dumbass throne. I'm looking for my princess."

"Blackstar, you may not seem like it but you're still a prince. Father hates the fact that you're a runt, a rebel. But did I ?" Kid said, jumping down from the castle wall he was sitting on. It was pretty high, so when he landed, there were bits of light around him.

"I don't have time."

"I'll make time." I turned back to my brother, who had his arms crossed.

"If it's the youngest princess of Ei, let me tell you that she passed here. And I'm tracking her at the moment. Ever heard of wisps ? Yep. That. I use that. Although I'll have to mess her mind up a bit---she'd be staring, I'm sure of it." Kid said, before sighing.

"Now, will you listen ?"

I remained silent, but kept a glare. This person is the one I want to surpass the most. He has... Everything.

"...Fine." I sighed. I have to admit, I miss home, too... Even if Kid has everything, he's still a great brother. Best, even.

"Great ! Now, Blackstar... I'm sure you have heard of the arranged wedding ?"

"It's three months away."

"Yes."

"I don't want to marry her." Kid's expression softened. "...But she... I was surprised. She was fine with it. Doesn't she have someone she loves ?"

"Kid, I took her out because she's been stuck in her castle almost all her life. Manipulated by her parents. Always." I turned to the crowd, and watched them start lighting their lanterns one by one.

"...And ?"

"She surely agreed because she didn't have a choice." I sighed. "It's a pity. So I decided I'd take her anywhere. Even if it was illegal."

"You're going to be punished."

"Yes."

"You'll be fired."

"No. They don't have a replacement---I was a volunteer. If they fired me, the princess is unprotected. They need me more than I need them."

A smile rose from his lips. "I knew father should've paid more attention to you."

"You own the crown. He doesn't give a shit about me."

"Don't say that." Kid went over to me, and sighed. "I remember him smiling happily when he first carried you as a newborn."

"Yeah right."

Kid was about to speak, but then he tensed, and smiled. "Ah, found her !" The light over his head lowered to his face. I averted eye contact from the damn ball.

"She's... She's in the forest borders. Well, I'll just make her walk back here. No problem." Kid said with a smile, before letting the ball float back on his head. "However, I shall take my leave. I only told father I forgot my sword in my room to get away and talk to you."

"Hah. I'm the amazing Blackstar. Everyone sacrifices to talk to me." I crossed my arms, but Kid only laughed. "I'm glad you didn't change. Anyways," He removed his mask, and gave it to me---placing it on my head. "Keep this. Memory of home, since I don't think father ever gave you one."

I smiled at him, and nodded. "...Thanks."

"You're welcome." Kid jumped back to the castle wall, and sat on it, turning his head to face me. "See ya around !" Then, he jumped off, leaving me alone.

I sighed deeply, wearing the mask. It had the scent of candles. Typical Kid. He spends half of his day making sure his damned candles are even and symmetrical.

So, (y/n)'s on her way here... Well, I should just wait. I walked ahead, and sat, sighing.

...The lanterns are now lit. They're now counting down to Seven pm, since it's now Six fifty-six...

Maybe she'd just be in time to watch it here with me ? The views nice here, and the sky's clear. The air's flowing this way, too... The lanterns will float over here.

"Knight,"

I blinked, and looked down at the ring.

"Yeah ?"

It didn't respond. But then, the labrynith design of the ring glowed red---and soon I felt pricking pain around where the ring was.

"Ow--ow ! Hey ! What are you doing ?!"

"Save the princess."

"What ?"

"SaaaAAAAVVVVEEEE the princEEEESSSSSS."

Fucking hell, that's damn creepy ! This ring has this girly voice, but now it's screaming like a possessed ghost !

"A-alright, alright ! Tell me where she is !"

The pricking pain got worse. I stood up and quickly ran.

"Into the paaaAAAAATTHHH !"

Ah, shit ! I quickly ran to the path, going at full speed. I'd care about losing myself later. I have to save her. Even without this damn ring.

"She's injuuuUUUREEED, KNIIIIGHT. WOOOOooooUUUUnNNNNDS."

"W-what ?! Damn it--shut up with that---just tell me where she is."

"Tower of EiiiiiinnnneeeeEEEEEE !"

Ah, more shit ! That tower is there to guide the borders of the kingdom---to protect !

It must've thought she was an intruder...

Damn it. I know where she is now. Hang on, (y/n), I'm coming !
