Mason POV

I watched as he gracefully leaped off the platform.

Shaking my head and trying to hide a smile I began to climb up the tree, all the way to the top.

The sun was just setting....

Have we been here for that long?!

I wonder, THe sun looked so awesome and nice.

I thought about what Nathan had said.

How he liked me better in clothes like these and how I can be annoying and then so .......... Cute.

My face heat up a little as I thought about it, I lightly touched my face, am I blushing? Again?

I shake my head laughing a little, I hear leaves ruffling, I am about to kick whoever was up here with me, and then I saw that it was nathan.

I quickly stopped myself, but that made me begin to fall, like fall out of the tree.

Shoot....

I thought, closing my eyes

Not before a strong arm quickly wrapped around my waist, I slightly opened my eyes to find an irritated looking Nathan his face less than an inch away from mine.

My breath hitched, my heart beat faster.

I stared into his soft intense looking eyes.

"You're so helpless Prince."

He said, as he held me, then picking me up and holding me tightly by his side.

We stared at to sky,

I cleared my throat.

"We should start heading back" I say My face burning red, I start scratching my neck, I then start heading down the ladder. Nathan soon followed me.

We made our way back to the castle and Amy was sitting in the front of the garden.

I pointed my head down and had Willow run faster to the stables.

I helped Nathan off and put Willow up.

"MASOOONNNN I THOUGHT YOU WOULD NEVER COME BACK!!!!"

I rolled my eyes as I turned around to face Amy.

I forced a smile.

"Hey Amy! Sorry I can't hang out right now! I am sorry you had to wait that long for me, I am really and truly sorry!"

I say and then wrapping her in a hug.

"Oh so you can hang out with HIM but not ME?!"

She said angrily.

I chuckled.

"Do I hear a hint of jealousy? Well even so I promise I will spend time with you tomorrow ok? I am really sorry, and after all that waiting."

She pouted as she marched out of the stables.

I turned around to Nathan.

"Hey Na-"

He then slaps me.

"OWWW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

I say rubbing my cheek.

He frowned and walked out of the stables.

What the hell?

Nathan's POV

I slapped him across the face.

"OWWW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

He shouted, pressing his palm up against his face.

Ignoring his question, I turned around and walked out of the stables.

I sighed.

I continued walking into the palace and into the servants quarters.

Changing into my uniform, I went out of the changing room to find someone standing in front of me.

Elise.

She smiled up at me kindly.

"Hello, Nathan, how is your day?"

I smiled down at her.

"Pretty good, how is yours?"

"Nice, as well. Florence sent me here to give you an order..."

She looked away.

My eyebrows furrowed.

"An order?"

Elise frowned slightly but nodded.

"You might not like it, Nathan. It has to do with his Majesty, as well as his Highness."

The king and the prince.

I sighed.

"It's fine. I'll deal with it."

I looked at Elise.

"Is the king in his throne room?"

She nodded.

I smiled softly and waved to her.

"Thanks, see ya later."

I jogged to the throne room, opening the door and walking down the red carpet toward the king.

The king was on a platform above a set of stairs.

Stopping before the stairs, I kneeled down, placing a hand on my chest.

"Good evening, Your Majesty."

"Raise your head, little boy."

I raised my head, looking up at him.

The king smiled down at me.

"Your name is Nathan, correct?"

The king asked me.

I smiled.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The king nodded.

"Mason's told me a lot about you."

My eyes widened.

"Is that so?"

I asked softly.

"Yes, it is so."

The king suddenly grew serious.

"Nathan, I have a request."

I stared up at the king.

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

The king looked down at me with serious eyes.

"Would you please be Mason's guardian?"

My eyes widened.

"The prince's guardian, Your Majesty?"

The king smiled softly.

"Yes, you are the person he trusts the most. I would like you to bring him to school, cook for him everyday, be his guard outside his door at night."

....the person the prince trusts most.... Is me....

I smiled.

"Oh, that's right, I will send you and your family more money."

The king smiled.

I grinned.

"Now, now, Your Majesty, you know I would do it without the money. Do not try to bribe me, Your Majesty."

The king laughed.

"You are quite funny, Nathan."

I bowed my head.

"I accept the job of being the prince's guardian."
