For the most part, we don't get happy endings. We get happy beginnings, happy middles, but rarely a happy ending. When we see an old couple, looking merry and content, we automatically react to it, it makes us happy: they got a happy ending. For the most of us however we are stuck the the endings we get, our stories concluded by the end of the finite series we are dealt. No imaginary numbers, no asymptotic lines leading to infinity, but an end. I was always untroubled by this, I understood this. It is simple math, while infinity exists, it is not quantifiable, it is not practical. It is abundant in its rarity. I was okay with this until I met you. You are the unsolvable variable, because I can't quantify or explain in any literary sense the depth of my love for you.

The day we met it was blisteringly hot. The sun seemed to beat down and blaze through everything. It was one of those heats that makes you see things with an orange tinge and make you want to tell someone the truth. My iced tea provided much needed hydration to my mummified state, and I was so engrossed in the remarkable existence of cold liquids that I didn't even notice you. Clara did, oh trust me Clara noticed you . "Hey Clara, Elise. Hot day isn't it?" You finished speaking by the time I raised my gaze to meet your eyes. They shined so nicely with the orange tinge of the heat. "Ya , it's rather deathly out, but hey what can you do?" I reply returning to the oasis of my iced tea. I wasn't looking, but I knew you smirked. " Well said. Anyway I just saw you guys out here and thought to say hey. It was nice seeing you, especially you Elise." You said, and by the time I looked up you were walking away.

I am well aware by the way that you remember our first time meeting, infact there is no doubt that you have memorized every second spent with me as I have done with every spent with you. But it is important to my point so stay with me.

" What just happened?" Clara said with amused frustration.

" You are asking me? My knowledge on boys spans over what Gossip Girl has taught me so i'm in the dark here." I laugh as I reply. " So he likes you, that's clear now, but why you? No offense." She said turning to me quickly. "None taken" I reply. "Hmm well the situation is really quite simple, we are getting you a date with Christian Attly." At Clara's words my mouth went dry. The thought of me and you alone left my chest feeling weird and bouncy. I had never thought much about you, or any boy for that matter. At that time I had two focuses in life, academics and ballet. But suddenly thinking of a date with you, everything changed. I didn't know it at the time, but soon whenever I looked at you, my chest would get bouncy and that orange tint would come back, regardless of heat.

Clara Insisted I spent the night, and as it was summer there were no obstacles in that. She spent the majority of the night hatching a Seal Team 1 operation to get us out on a date. I tried to listen I did, but the mention of your name brought upon the bouncy orange plague again, 1 so I started stretching. A pastime that has always calmed my nerves. By midnight I was starving and wanted food. "Clara can you please stop talking and come with me to go get food?" I moaned in my hunger ridden state. "First off, rude. And secondly , of course... But you are driving." She said hopping up and heading out of her room. I grabbed my purse and beelined for my white ford fiesta.
