The Dark Veil

Chapter 1

Great, another stupid football game for my stupid boyfriend. Ok, I know what you're thinking, if you don't wasn't to be there why go? What do I look like a narrator?!

I looked over to see my best friend in the whole wide world, Tyler. He looked at me with his dark navy blue, concern filled eyes and said,

"Hey Sky are you ready for today?"

I looked at him with a glance that said 'seriously. Are you kidding me.' "Tyler, do you really want an answer?"

He held his hands up in a surrender motion "Before I did but now..... Not so much,"

"Smart boy," I said with a sneer.

"Skylar you can do it I know you can but if you need any help...,"

I shot daggers in his direction.

"Yeesh, it was just a suggestion," Tyler said.

"Well I don't want anyone's help. I can handle him by myself like I always have," I said crossing my arms across my chest and legs in an almost sort of pout motion.

"Yeah, yeah do whatever you want, just don't give up and fight as hard as you can,"

"No, Ty I'm going to surrender my body to him and say 'whatever you want, you can have'" I said sarcastically.

"Don't be a smartass," Tyler said with a joking vibe to it.

"Have you met me? That's like my entire personality," I said holding my arms out as if to say 'Where have you been?!' Oh but of course, he already knew that. I have know Tyler since the second grade, when he stuck a piece of gum in my hair on a dare. Mrs. Eileen helped me get the gum out of my hair, but that didn't stop my hand from slapping the shit out of his cheek. Ever since that day, we became the best of friends.

"Yeah whatever, I'm gonna go get some food, you want any?" Tyler said as he stood up off of the bleachers.

"Sure, get me a cheeseburger,"

"Got it," he said back to me without turning around, as he trotted down the bleachers away to the snack bar.

Just as I saw the last of his brown scruffy hair disappear around the corner, someone sat down next to me where Tyler was sitting.

"Hey, you can't sit here my friend is sitting here," I said, not really looking at who I was talking to. The only thing I saw was their Converse shoes, blue jeans and black v-neck that fit very well to their chest.

"Is she cute?" the person said, I looked up to find an amazing pair of blue eyes giving me their undivided attention. It was a boy that I rarely talked to, but had an endless earfull of everyday. He had jet black hair that was semi-long, a slight build and was about 5' 10" in height. he hand blantly clear white skin, and a smile that looked like he found everything amusing in some way. Will Annex was staring at me with a look that said "I think I'm better than you." Alright, there are two types of popular, one, sports star popular. The second is ultra mega cool person, that girls giggle about whenever they pass by. Will is the second choice. He arrived two years ago to this never-ending hell of a town. Ever since he had arrived to Holland High School, all of the girls were falling all over him. Its so annoying to not be able to walk down the hallway and without hearing "Oh! He's so dreamy! and Oh! I would tap that! etcetera, etcetera and frankly I don't give a damn who he is and where he came from, I really don't see what the big deal is, I mean it's not like he's some super star. He's just a person.

"Yeah he is, and I'm sure you would love a date with him. I'll see if he's up to it," I said with my natural sarcasm.

He gave a short laugh and said "I bet he is."
