Damon's POV
Groaning I stood up from my chair wondering what I would do with myself. I had just received a call from my mother telling me to come home so we could plan my engagement party to Vanessa. I met Vanessa two years after the incident in Cuba. Two years after searching for the girl. I loved Vanessa but I really can't do this right now. Picking up the phone,I called my mom.
"Hello, Damon?" She said once she picked up the phone
"Yes mom,its me,I'm calling with the office line."
"Hmm OK,"
"Mom, I don't think I can make it back home to plan the party"
"Why not?" She asked
"I'm not yet done with work, and there is a very important deal I have to close." I said
"Damon, this is your engagement party, I won't plan it for you and Vanessa can't do all the work." She said starting to get angry. "You can at least take some days off from work.. For family son"
"I'll see what I can do,Bye mom,I'll talk later." I said before hanging up. Sitting back on my chair I tried really hard to concentrate on the work file in front of my desk but that wasn't possible as images of that single erotic night at the lonely beach kept flashing in my mind. After that night, I had gone back to look for the girl but it was as if she had disappeared from the face of the earth. I don't even know her name.
When that Reva girl walked into my office. Just the sight of her in my office sent chills down my spine. Only one person ever did that and I couldn't even find her. I was a mess. I couldn't even go to the club or Vanessa would think I was cheating on her. Going back to the office line I called Max.
"Max, I need you to find out everything you know about Reva Daniel." I said once he had picked up the phone
"Yes sir,I'll get on with it."
"Thank you." I said then hung up the phone. Finally having some peace of mind I went back to the work files. I was almost done before I heard my phone go off. Picking it up I saw that it was Vanessa.
"Hello Van." I said
"Damon" she said whining into the phone." Why aren't you at home. Do you not care about our engagement,I can't do this alone. The party is two days away"
"Van,I care, I'm just busy now...I'll call you back when I'm done with this file." I said and hung up the phone before she would start talking again. Huffing I went back to the file I was working on and hurriedly finished it up. When I was done, I looked at the clock to see that it was already after midnight. Packing up my things I made a mental note to tell my secretary to issue out the invitations for the engagement to the staff. Switching of the light I left the office premises. I really needed my bed right now, I had a really frustrating day.
When I got back to my quiet and lonely home, I dropped my suitcase and went into the shower. The shower has always reminded me of the girl and the beach. As I had my shower, I thought of the girl wondering where she was and why I couldn't find her anywhere
