Prologue

Praxton:

I promised her. I swore that I would always be there, and I failed. That’s the only thing that runs through my mind as I sit here, wondering what I could have done better and beating myself up. I know I need to try harder to get to her now, but I can’t find the strength. She has all of it with her, she has my heart.

Korallynn:

All I can think is He promised me. He swore. I gave him everything, all of my trust and my love. And he broke it. He threw it in my face in a matter of minutes. I have no one to blame but myself and nowhere to look except the beginning.
