The Law of the Gift
This is the law of the gift
The gift of the silver tongue
Don’t go astray
Don’t take it the wrong way
If well used this is a gift well worn
But take care child
If you be beguiled
By a friend’s tales silver spun
For a spider web begins so slowly
Invisible gossamer threads
If ill-intentioned
The spider’s lovely inventions
Will soon be designed for your head.
So watch the spider spin slowly
In awe at his celestial works
But take great care you don’t get trapped
In a ruse, a shining jewel
Lacking luster
With no worth
